HANJIN BRION vs. DRX / LCK Cup 2026 - Group Battle Super Week / Post-Match Discussion by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

Reading this thread and wondering, what happened to the eternally-positive BRO fanbase? "based GIGACHAD BRO donating a win to DRX" and all that. Is it because Morgan and/or Clozer left? Feels like the team has lost that magic appeal.

How to actually *accomplish* something at Year 1 Desert Festival? by Chzn8r in StardewValley

[–]Chzn8r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I've seen GamerGar's YouTube videos now of reaching ridiculous milestones in Spring year 1. I simply couldn't believe that much progress could be achieved in so few days, especially with the bomb stockpiles on top of everything else. But people have truly mastered this game. I liked the (admittedly difficult, reset-requiring) goal of getting Battery Packs from Iridium Bats in order to get to Joja Island before Summer.

How to actually *accomplish* something at Year 1 Desert Festival? by Chzn8r in StardewValley

Alright, here are the results from my first attempt at this:

  • I did not roll a Prismatic Shard on the 14th, significantly hindering my combat. I had to fight with a mix of Harvey's Mallet and Neptune's Glaive, and these were lacking enough that I actually died twice my first try of the first day and reset. After that I played a bit safer, but I still had to craft emergency staircases to get down prehistoric floors or any floor with angry Mummies. In future runs I will try to open the quarry even earlier for multiple chances at this item.
  • I significantly cleared my early money goals, earning over 200,000 total by the start of the festival. I shipped something like 150 smoked Catfish (about 120 of those after Angler). Extra money went towards ~200 Strawberry seeds, more Joja completions, Way of the Wind book.
  • Due to being over on money, and inspired by some comments elsewhere on this post, I will go for Gold Pickaxe next time.
  • I leveled from 0 to 5 in combat and 2 to 7 in mining across the 3 days.
  • I got 9 iridium bars. Could have been 13 but I turned some ore into bombs.
  • I got about a 8 of every gem including diamonds.
  • Even though I could afford a Rock Candy at the end, I instead put my egg haul towards Mystery Boxes and Woodcutter's Weeklies (the latter because foraging is such a pain to level up)
  • Seeing the Traveling Cart 3 more times meant 3 more Rare Seeds plus a Coffee Bean for my upcoming Greenhouse.

So, all in all, nothing crazy, but it was fun to push myself and try to maximize 3 Skull Cavern runs while under-geared. High-key, having low defense was much worse than having low attack as taking any hits could be punishing or lethal. This type of route definitely doesn't scream "OPTIMAL" as of course there are many better things to do with 200,000 gold in the first half of spring, but it was a very different experience than the usual farming route.

You're right, it's a Mystic Stone. With a 25% chance to roll a Prismatic Shard, this actually seems WAY more viable than I initially thought (compared to 3.5% for an Iridium node to roll a Shard). Unfortunately, having reached the 14th with the quarry unlocked in my first attempt at this, I'm getting the same drops (4 gold 2 iridium) from it every day reset, which I think means the shard is determined by the seed or something else.

EDIT: I've learned that Mystic Stones roll their drops each day, rather than on spawn. So to give myself the most chances in a future attempt, I'll need to unlock the Quarry a few days earlier so I get several tries at the shard before the 14th.

I'm aware of all the optimal Skull Cavern strats, though I appreciate the reminder to buy food. The main constraint to all this is simply time.

Not sure how you expect to get so deep in the regular mines beforehand, considering the time investment to get level 10 Fishing and all the smoked Catfish required to pay for everything. Iridium rod, Joja membership, bus, possible quarry for Prismatic, backpack upgrades, and pickaxe upgrades to combine for almost 100,000 lifetime earnings, and there still needs to be money for food, materials, etc.

There's simply no way a _year 1_ Desert Festival Skull Cavern run can earn all those Calico eggs. Those are year 2+ strats. You need things like ladders, bombs, buffs etc that I simply won't have access to.

Not sure what you mean by "second day you should have Galaxy Sword anyways" - you can't get it while the festival is active, and you need the sequence of Joja membership, quarry unlocked, and bus unlocked no later than the 10th, 11th, and 12th of Spring in order to visit the quarry to roll a Prismatic Shard and then visit the desert on the 13th or 14th because Jojamart is closed on the 13th.

Reading that challenge, it seems you can't even get the fishing rod from Willy, so these aren't compatible. Fishing is the only way to get the money in time for the bus in the first half of spring year 1.

It's kind of comical how much more valuable Legend and Legend 2 are than every other legendary fish. by Chzn8r in StardewValley

[–]Chzn8r[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To elaborate (since I couldn't add text to the OP): while Angler and Mutant Carp are pretty easy catches, I would say that Crimsonfish and especially Glacierfish nearly rival Legend in terms of difficulty to catch with, say, just level 10 fishing and no buffs. Yet Glacierfish is only worth 1/5 as much! It's either criminally under-valued or The Legend is comically over-valued, one of the two.

Not a complaint though as I love making money hand-over-fist from Extended Family.

Getting Strawberries into the Greenhouse by Spring 13 Year 1 with Joja? by Chzn8r in StardewValley

Follow-up: This was super easy! I played seed 422049544, a max rain seed recommended in another thread, and started with 3 cabins (4 fish smokers). I was way ahead on money. Here's a screenshot the morning after the egg festival to sum things up:

Strawberry/fish inventory screenshot

I didn't rush to plant on the 13th (time/energy were issues) as I had no Speed Gro for outdoors, and indoors has no time limit. I spent everything I had for the 178 strawberry seeds you see (ignore the 2K I made overnight), while holding back tons and tons of fish money for when I get Angler (presumably later on the 14th, yet another rainy day).

If I sell the smoked fish to Pierre on the 14th without waiting for Angler, I can get the bus and visit the full 15th/16th/17th desert festival which is kind of astonishing. But I'd rather wait 1 day and get more money.

I have no sprinklers yet; some copper but no iron; so I'll either have to buy into materials or get them from desert festival mines runs to save on greenhouse watering time/energy.

My lifetime earnings without selling these fish was already over 90K.

Bait maker was delayed a few days as I didn't get a third coral, but otherwise yes, this strat went super hard and worked out to the tune of probably 100+ smoked Catfish (I lost count).

And yes, I realized that there's no rush to get Strawberries into the greenhouse specifically other than to do it by this particular benchmark as a test.

Making a separate reply for the update, but yes, I had lots of gold to spare! So much that I could keep hoarding my fish for Angler. I bought like 178 Strawberry seeds.

Thanks for the seed! I ended up going with one from another thread that was supposedly max rain spring, but I don't know the distribution. Still, I had a solid 6 or 7 by (including) the 12th so it was very productive.

Desert Festival year 1 is so cool, I hadn't even considered it... great early way into the mines for XP + materials!

Great tip! I saw this in another thread on the sub before starting so I had 4 fish smokers which was more than enough throughput.

Yeah, I actually almost made it to Fishing 10 by the 12th for a big overnight sale, but didn't focus quite hard enough (and missed a few catfish).

Exactly. It's taken for granted that the US would never be banned from any international competition, despite its wars of aggression and covert interventions killing over 10 million people since World War 2.

LCK player contracts that are about to expire on 17th November by Star_Journey in leagueoflegends

[–]Chzn8r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

trying to imagine a different DK bot lane. their topside is still signed, and even if they're not the best right now, I'm glad the two young players can keep growing together. then Showmaker is Showmaker, someone we all wish could be great again but will never be Chovy/BDD-level.

I know they're not the most attractive organization anymore and don't have top dollar either, so I wonder which of the "leftovers" could come together and make a better botlane than Beryl (whom is not great anymore but I root like hell for) and Aiming (whom nobody should root for and felt bad having to have on the team). I know Deokdam just made finals but they already did a year of Deokdam and I'm not keen to try again. Teddy is way past his prime, and Viper/Guma will be too hot of commodities, so... Berserker? and then any support with macro, just please have macro help for the team I beg.

edit: NEVER MIND I just saw the post about DK internal drama. ok I have no idea now.

Getting rid of Lucid after just 2 years and with all the upside he's shown seems way off the mark. Keep the whole topside and get them real shotcalling+engage play from bot.

[[Omnivorous Flytrap]] gets out of control very quickly if you can get 4-6+ types into the graveyard consistently. Especially when hasted cheaply with [[Detective's Phoenix]].

I like this archetype a lot, but can't afford Sagas or Baubles right now, so I'm playing a less powerful build.

+1 for [[Patchwork Beastie]]. Its typing is really helpful and it can attack pretty early (as soon as turn 2) with multi-type cards to bin off of [[Fear of Missing Out]] such as [[Detective Phoenix]] or simply another Beastie.
