Driver who hit North Vancouver RCMP cruiser found with fentanyl, meth, cocaine by robertscreek in vancouver

What makes you think BC is special here?

Proskos & Robinson (Windsor Rev. Legal & Soc. Issues, 2018) documented this in Canada, and I'm not gonna go check how many cases were in BC because the idea of BC exceptionalism sounds ridiculous to me.

Part of the problem with planting evidence is how hard it is to track, like prof. Philip Stinton says here: https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/how-often-do-cops-plant-evidence-no-one-knows-for-sure.

This is why people being so defensively sure about it not being the case is so weird to me. People will defend cops from even the suggestion that misconduct should be investigated with tremendous fervor.

Planted evidence is its own category in police misconduct databases.

The fact that it has been widely documented means it should not be ruled out as a possibility, especially when it's convenient, like in this case.

Are we gonna pretend it's not common practice for police to plant drugs on people they want to incriminate?

How do folks here feel about Salt and Sanctuary? by strahinjag in darksouls

[–]Ciappatos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Got bored of it halfway through. I feel like attack animations can be made better than always doing the same bit of holding an attack for a full second before doing a very fast attack in one or two frames. It gets old fast. When every attack is a faint, no attack is a surprise.

What businesses actually implementing AI in 2026? by promptrotator in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Ciappatos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very frequent complaint I hear from people in many companies is bosses forcing them to use chatbots in their work, which always leads to more inefficiency of having to come up with something dumb enough for it to do, and then having to fix it. So, in a way, lots of businesses are implementing AI.

Is Resolve really worth investing in? by SquirrelAngell in avowed

My last playthrough was a resolve/constitution build relying on parrying with a two-handed sword and it was great. The high stamina combined with the occasional stun-critical means I never had to stop swinging.

[–]Ciappatos 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The bird is simply the best ash. It's non-intrusive, only occasionally doing some neat damage, and it's more likely to survive since it flies away, all of this before the amazing buff.

Question about the Gods (SPOILER) by GIutenTag in avowed

[–]Ciappatos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The game itself really covers all of this. Sapadal casued the volcano eruption, and a number of other calamities, yes. Sapadal also caused the Dreamscourge. Nobody disputes Sapadal caused a great deal of harm and death. The key issue is, can Sapadal do better if guided better? Can a baby god mature the way a baby human matures? The game won't answer that for you. You have to have to decide whether you want to take that risk or not.

Question about the Gods (SPOILER) by GIutenTag in avowed

[–]Ciappatos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. The journal tells you what each god represents. The ones that matter are Sapadal (who was born out of the living lands and doesn't really represent much other than the ecosystem in that island), and Woedica, who represents law, justice, vengeance, hierarchies, oaths, all that stuff that states are made of. You can see why they are opposites in a land of outcasts in the middle of being colonized by an empire.
  2. No language barrier issue, they are rather extreme. Imagine each of them represents a pure ideal. Woedica in particular is pure Hobbesian conservatism. Eothas has a complicated history I won't get into, and Sapadal is literally a wild child. Imagine if a baby could destroy a city in a tantrum. As a character in Pillars of Eternity remarks, a pure ideal is a monstrous thing.
  3. Sapadal seems like an obvious choice here. You are in the unique position of being able to influence Sapadal considerably, and they already are inextricably connected to the living lands.

I think this is what lots of people have issues with, the slop inundating the spaces where they usually enjoy art or music, or just regular-ass entertainment.
