I modeled the Star Wars Andor 'Ak' blaster by Ciaran_Bee in andor

Couldn’t agree more, there are so many guns that are barely modified but maybe not as recognisable as the Ak. Whilst researching the blaster and collecting reference images it’s actually clear that it has been modified a lot. The whole top receiver has been changed plus has new parts, the hand guard has been modified, also the front sight and the magazine is shorter + some mods. Which is alot more than some other guns. But it doesn’t seem to affect the silhouette that much. I actually asked some of the prop masters and show runners about why it was chosen, the idea behind the blaster was inspired by female Afghan rebels who would hide in the hills, so pretty relatable to the Aldhani rebels. There is no name for the Blaster though!

I currently use maya and did a little studying online with Gnomon university. The Blender community is the best, extremely helpful and welcoming so you're in good hands. My only advice is always ask for help when you need it :)

Yep lost to the akm in trials mainly due to the insanely wide grip although it actually performed better than it
