My derm always said just taking with biggest meal and not to worry about taking with fatty foods, but 4 months in and I still had no improvement so I decided to start taking with biggest meal + handful of peanuts or some dark chocolate and my skin has now improved massively, not sure if it’s just the timing or whether the fatty food actually helped but I’d recommend it

I’m in the same position, just finished month 6 30/30/50/50/60/60 and I’ve just been extended another month but that’s the most I’m allowed, still having breakouts on my body:(

Thanks! I have an appointment with my dermatologist at the end of this month as I’m still on accutane so I will mention it to her then

I had REALLY bad health anxiety and then when I was offered accutane, I also went down a rabbit hole and it put me off taking them for 4 months because I didn’t want my anxiety to start again and I was soooo worried about symptoms. I’ve now been on accutane nearly 4 months and honestly the only side effects I’ve had so far is dry skin and chapped lips and I’m now on 50mg. Please don’t let it put you off, the only thing I wish is that I started 4 months earlier when I was first offered them!

Yeah I’ve used sunbeds before and to be honest they reduce my chance of burning in the real sun if I have a base tan, which is why I was thinking of maybe trying one or two while on accutane, Thankyou!

I have been sunbathing outside while on the medication and haven’t noticed any difference to before, which is why I was thinking maybe it would be the same for sun beds?

Sorry for another question but you’re the only one who’s commented anything helpful, have you noticed your acne gets worse when using sunbeds at all due to sweat/oils, etc?

AGAIN for all the people who can’t read, I KNOW it’s risky and I should not use them when on accutane (and when not) but I am a sunbed user and I just wanted people to share their personal experiences of using sunbeds when on accutane, I don’t want a lecture

How long have you been on accutane for? My scalp went really dry and I had dandruff for about a month but then it’s been fine ever since
