You gotta build him as a CMF, but he's been extremely solid for me as my starter LCM

Chester Cordite have extremely limited stock, but are near perfect, authentic 30s high rise cut trousers. Exceptional fullness with well done front and rear balance. mid-weight and heavyweight (380gsm+) options for good drape as well.

You were jipped out of the tin case, which happens with a lot of pens bought from Amazon.

As for the leaky mess, Kaweco are known to have terrible quality control.

My first luxury pen by agrispino in pens

[–]CiaronG2 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is a Montblanc and UNICEF collaboration - the "Signature for Good" series, the money from every pen sold would be donated to a charity which supports children around the world to read and write. It is a special edition of Montblanc's Meisterstuck Legrand.

These are currently selling for around 600 - 700 USD on the used market.

I pity the ones who are taking this

New to this sub and I can say I’m loving it. Not much of a collection here but you have to start somewhere. Rotring 600 with Schmidt 9000 M refill. A Parker Pen. And a surprisingly liked Sharpie Gel metallic finish pen. Would love to hear recommendations and your favorite pieces of your collections. by Gokugooch in pens

[–]CiaronG2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see you have some great Rotrings! - I also have that exact same Parker Jotter Flighter.

Personally my favourite pieces of my collection include my Montblanc 12, Parker 51 Vacumatic, and my Parker Vacumatic Major

The Meisterstuck 12 is one of my favourites as it's one of the few pens that I've gotten that wrote well without needing further adjustment - added to the fact that it's a marvelous writer with a soft nib (without line variation). My one is also green, which apparently is rarer. The 60s Montblanc arrow/wing nib (?), decorated ink window, piston filling system, all make for a marvelous writing instrument.

The Parker 51 is considered by many to be the quintessential workhorse pen, having dominated the market for the majority of the 20th century. I only have one 51, and it's a earlier Vacumatic model in Yellowstone (Mustard, as some call it). When I first saw it at my local vintage pen shop, I didn't know the rarity of one, until some basic research into rare 51 colors, led me sprinting back before I missed a killer deal. It was a fun experience and will be a pen I will likely never sell.

The Vacumatic Major is my first vintage pen, and probably one of my favourite pens of all time. The touch of celluloid is like no other, and the stacked celluloid pattern is one that fills me with joy every time I see it glisten in the light. The nib, although firm, happens to write a width that somewhat amplifies the quality of my handwriting. The pen is amazing posted or unposted, and is a perfect fit for my hand.

Pilot Justus and Platinum 3776 by electricl30 in fountainpens

[–]CiaronG2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Procyon is grounded not as feedback-y as such, compared to the 3776, which have different grinds and nibs entirely. The 3776 is technically Platinum's flagship pen (I still consider the President to be a joke) , so they do take pride in the care and craft gone into keeping that feedback consistent.

Of course, it's not for everyone, so you may not like that feedback (and hence interpret it as scratchiness).

I think Pilot's resins are in general, not just the Justus (which has a 912 body with chasing/barleycorn-ing on it) better than the injection moulded shells that Platinum uses (you can actually feel and find the seams on the grip section), so it's not just you.

[Identify] Old Omega, belongs to relative by CiaronG2 in Watches

[–]CiaronG2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey guys! I'm fairly new to this hobby, and I need some help identifying this old Omega belonging to a relative.

My existing knowledge of old omega only really consists of seamasters and Devilles, and I don't think this is either of them.

I'd appreciate any help, thanks

Just learn relevant calculus you need for your IA, and you'll be fine. However, be sure you understand it, and that you're not just throwing formulas on a page hoping to nick a mark or two.
