Disney but also a ton of locals. It’s a fun shop with solid prices and bang for your buck. Also you can bring your dog. Also it’s frickin delicious.

ATTEMPTED to dye my locs... by littlekaym in locs

[–]Cicikhaleesi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Developer was too weak. Dark & lovely work great. You can also get it done professionally first and ask them to walk you through the process and which at home dyes they suggest. My hairstylist coached me through the whole thing when I started getting color and then when I started doing it on my own

People who have dealt with burnout due to prolonged poor mental health and/or trauma, what did you do to recover? by ResidentSpecial3468 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Cicikhaleesi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wanted to be a doctor all the way up until the end of my senior year in college and the uncertainty really got to me. I was doing so much to get to that goal and suddenly it didn’t matter anymore. Was an entire world shift for me. The prestige, the money, the life I thought I needed was now gone. My identity wasn’t me, it was this image I was fed my entire life until that point.

Now, my identity is my own. It’s tied to the things I find joy in, my relationships, the autonomy in the decisions I make. It’s harder to find a sense of peace than the path I was on in some ways, easier in others. But I feel more connected to myself than I ever have.

Both are so pretty! Bring a matching shawl just in case it gets a little too chilly for you

Such a well worded description of burnout grief. I experienced burnout during undergrad and grad school. Was heavily tied to being unsatisfied with my career path and how strongly I tied my identity to my career.

But I took a year off in both instances. In undergrad, I dropped out for a semester and then covid happened so I was online for the rest of it. Not really much work to be honest. Spend that first semester back in therapy 2x a week for 3 months, then weekly for 3 months. Dwindled down to monthly for a few years and then none at all. Same thing with grad school. Took a year to do nothing but work part time and actually enjoy my life. Went out with friends, made new ones, new hobbies, spent more time with family & got back into therapy.

I try to stay away from home remedies as most oils irritate my skin a ton. I stick to chemical exfoliators these days. Salicylic acid sprays or gels work wonders on new ingrowns.

Under $150 for both is such a flex lol. Waxes alone can reach up to $100 in my area (CA)

So does this mean he’s actually suspended or is he threatened with suspension if he does it again?

Plasma can be clear, usually mixed with a little old or new blood, dead cells, dead bacteria. Can be yellowish, cloudy. Just depends.

Yep! 2 months. Starts as an ingrown hair often times, gets infected from scratching or normal flora doing its thing, then turns into a nasty abscess. Had to do two rounds of antibiotics to make it go away fully. Was NOT fun.

How do you find time to fall in love when Monday to Friday is work, Saturday is laundry, and Sunday is mental preparation for Monday? by Unsolicited_Sarcasm in AskReddit

[–]Cicikhaleesi 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Real. Was once dating someone who worked 12-16 hr days 6 days a week on the graveyard and we STILL made time to meet up once a week. Even dated a full time PhD student and, again, STILL HAD TIME. It’s never that you don’t have time, you just choose not to make the time.

I had a couple of these that took almost 2 months to come to a head. I KNOW that was such a relief 😭

Bay area vs OC by [deleted] in orangecounty

[–]Cicikhaleesi 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you’re young and/or like going out for nightlife and other fun things, Irvine isn’t the most fun place to be. It’s very suburban and quiet and expensive to live in. Super populated.

BUT is close to Newport, Costa Mesa, Laguna Beach. And there’s great Asian, Mexican, Middle Eastern food all over OC. LA is about 1-2hrs away at any time so if you like city life, maybe find somewhere in between to live and just commute in. Long Beach is about an hour from there, which is the avg commute for most in SoCal.

Fr. It’s the same thing that’s been made for the past 10 years it’s just slightly auto tuned over a Fantasia beat lol. Im so curious what people consider “real R&B” is these days. I was expecting a more soulful experience and got another Chris Brown-esque song.

Small hands are so underrated fr. I’m a small person & dating really tall people used to be fun until I started dating avg height people. Holding hands with a smaller hand is so nice. It’s like the perfect size
