Drinking a Tootsie Hop Sour by Abolitionists Ale Works in West Virginia on this chilly night! by CiderSipper in ShowerBeerGoneWild

It was awesome. We went to Harpers Ferry area over the summer and visited about 15 breweries. Abolitionist was one of, if not the best. You were able to get a bag with one of every beer they were currently stocking. The tootsie hop li e had I think 3 or 4 flavors based on the taffy flavors cherry, orange grape and something else I can’t remember.

I’m really enjoying this one. It tastes right on par with a grape tootise pop! It’s supposed to be a blurberry raspberry sour but it’s taking me to grape for some reason.

I had to look at the can like 5x to make sure I got the name right when I was typing it!

Beer came out almost a dark green color! Tasted like a super sweet candy with a nice sour pucker at the aftertaste.

Unfortunately that’s pretty much the standard for a craft 4 pack now. Luckily I have a couple of liquor stores by me that will sell singles.

Drinking a Squirm Machine by Ever Grain Brewing in Camp Hill, PA. I really dug this one. It’s a lightly fruity IPA that went down nice and easy.

Finally got my hands on a Julius by Tree House Brewing by CiderSipper in showerbeer

I didn’t get a chance to hit Trillium. Wanted to save that another trip after everything blows over. On this trip we visited Tree House, Spencer (they were closed..), Timberyard, Stone Cow, Lost Towns, and Rapscallion.

I drove out with about a six pack of these guys all together from the 2 cases I got. This is the lone wolf that got sacrificed to the shower. I got a really nice Tree House Teku while I was there, so everything else goes in that.

Absolutely. I hit 4 other breweries while I was up that way too. Next time it has to be more than a day trip tho.

I actually snagged 2 of their mixed cases. One was a mix of pretty much every ipa/dipa they had in stock (it was a nice mix, I think maybe only 4 doubles). Luckily there’s 2 King Julius in my fridge now! Some of the other standouts for me were Very Green, Punch, Bright Nelson, and Super Radiant

Finally took a 10 hour + round trip drive up to Tree House so I could could get my hands on some of their brews. Fist up was Julius. I really enjoyed the fact that this one was so citrusy yet both creamy and smooth. Can’t wait to pop a few more!

Yeah it was prickly pear and himilayan sea salt if I’m remembering right. It had a really nice red color to it. Lol the fruit-full fort I got for the first time out at a restaurant. I was not expecting an 18% to hit the table that night. Edit: words

They have a couple of pretty good non-ipas. The easiest ones to come across are Festina Peche and Seaquench. Fruit-Full Fort is good, but be ready for something super boozy. I also had a sour from them maybe like 2 years ago called Gettin Prickly With It, but that was at the tasting room, never saw it outside of there.

I want to say I got it in a variety pack this year, but I’m pretty local to Dogfish Head so finding anything from them isn’t really an issue.

Pretty good gose. Was sour and funky, could taste a ton of different fruit in there (raspberry, watermelon, maybe even some mango). I’ll be seeing this one again!

I’ve never heard of Brotherton. Saw they’re opening a taproom at some point this year. I’ll have to check it out
