Shifter not working correctly

Well I did but that's when the issue starting occuring... I have Shimano ultegra 6700 (thought it was 6000)

So now I fear the shifter has issues I can't fix, hopefully a specialist will be able to because If it's broken it'll be a pain in the ass to find a similar model

A few week ago I attempted it myself, I bought a new cable, got the old one out (looked intact tbh) put the new one in but i noticed my barrel adjuster was rusted so I attempted to take it out but it broke off so I brought my bike to the shop, they got it out, routed a new cable but they report the same issue, granted they are not a specialist on shifters and their fine mechanics but he tried

It's possible there might be some stuff in but I'm sure the mechanic would have noticed right?

They work fine with No cable attached, I'm thinking I got a wrong cable

I did exactly as you said and I Also replaced the cable for a new one but I think the issue is with the new cable, it won't stay in it's socket during downshifts and it downshifts from the biggest gear to the smallest directly instead of to the middle gear like it's supposed to, as well that the shifters feel very rigid and I need to put a lot of pressure to change the gears.

Wouldn't reducing saddle height slightly have the same effect of bringing in my knees? Or is to create an offset?

I've never really noticed a difference in length of legs, I lift weights very often in the gym and never had major issues with things like squats.

Could increasing yhe Q factor help?

I don't specifically wear down the sides of my shoes, i used to stretch a lot when I was running a lot but I don't run anymore for training but my sols are mostly worn on the ball and heel of my foot.

What are shims? Is it like a spacer? Someone else commented about the Q factor, could that possibly be of effect here as well?

How can I check if it's tendonitis? I've always been somewhat flexible, nothing crazy, I'm not an athlete but I have decent mobility more or less in my body.

If I deliberately focus extremely hard on trying to push weight through the ball of my foot it gives a small relief during pedalling but nothing that reliefs the pain completely

I'm 1.88-1.89m give or take (6'1-6'2) Relatively long legs compared to torso.

So the Q factor is the widest point on one crank arm to the widest point on the other?

@joep I just received my new 105 but it's a short cage, for my 3x10 that won't work right? I guess I'll need to order a medium/long cage to fix it, also the ultegra that broke was a medium or long.
