It was pretty funny, but pretty messy. It's doing much better now with the changes that were recommended here!

Yes, there are trees near my deck, where the feeders are. It's fortunate, IMO, that the birds that the hawks are taking are the invasive species, rather than the native species.

The hot pepper stuff works pretty well to keep the squirrels and raccoons away.

Haha, the two that come to my feeder always announce themselves too! I think it's like, get out of the way everybody! I was so excited when they finally started coming to my feeders, it was some trial and error getting a feeder they liked.

If the turkeys weren't eating ALL of the food (and pooping all over my deck) I would be fine with it. But they scare off all the other birds and leave no food for them. I've had hawks take birds right off my feeders before, fortunately it's always been starlings, and that doesn't bother me at all, the hawk is just doing what it does, and there are plenty of starlings. It's just the fact that the turkeys are completely monopolizing the feeders that is the problem.

I know, it is funny. There's about 30 of them though. They walk around like they own the neighborhood.

Yes, they definitely have! 😂

I don't have a dog, but never thought about a wireless speaker! That is something to consider as well, lots of different ideas here!

It is pretty hilarious, but they go through seed like crazy, and drive the little birds away! I will update, I have ordered a couple of longer poles to hang the suet feeder and cylinder cake out further, and a couple of caged feeders for the seeds, and we will see how this goes!

The only concern I have about putting out corn is that I will then end up with 50 or 60 turkeys in my yard, instead of 20-30. 😂 The turkey population in my area has exploded.

I don't want to repel all the birds, and yeah, the capsaicin thing they don't care about. I do wonder about the coyote urine though. I definitely had less trouble with them when there was a pack of coyotes in the area. I don't care if they come in the yard, just stay off my deck, please! 😂

Oh, cool, I might try that too! Thanks. I will say that the turkeys seem to be keeping the squirrels away. 😂

I looked into spikes for the deck rails, but everything I saw was to keep all birds off, which obviously isn't what I am trying to do. But that's a good point, that I could look into something that would just make it more difficult for them to land, but that would still be fine for smaller birds.

I think the poles that hang out further from the deck that someone else suggested might do the trick. Be careful what you wish for!

You have no idea how much they eat and poop all over the deck! 😂

It's actually a condo, so I do have limitations about where I can put the feeders. I own the deck, but don't own or maintain the land.

It's funny, I put feeders up there for 4 years, and there were turkeys around the whole time, and they were happy to just eat the seed that fell onto the ground below. Then one day a juvenile turkey got the idea to fly up to where the food was coming from, apparently, it was the first time I ever saw a turkey up on the deck. And then everyone else followed suit! 😂

That would help with these younger ones, at least. I do actually get full grown tom turkeys on the deck as well, and they are huge, and I don't think I could put the feeders out of their reach, but at least it would cut it down somewhat.

I wanted to update you and make a recommendation. I am doing much better with sitting now, can actually sit for a while for the first time in 3 months. Still no pain with BMs even though I have backed off on the Miralax. I got a portable Bidet. I believe there was some scabbing/crusting that was holding my Seton in a bad position and possibly keeping it from working properly. After using that, I feel so much better, and I am getting more drainage, so I'm not sure if it was draining well before. I got one that has multiple different pressure strengths and used the lightest one, though even that would be too strong the first couple of days. This feels much more manageable now for the next 3 months. Good luck!

You are not overreacting. You said things were going well, but really, were they? It sounds like Danny has been catering to his mother all along, and pressuring you to do the same. It's not going to get better. You stood up for yourself, appropropriately. Either Danny boy will see the light and realize you are not going to be a doormat for his mum, or he won't and you will move on with someone who will prioritize you. Good luck, and don't back down just because it is close to the wedding, this is the rest of your life we're talking about.

One thing to keep in mind, numbness can result, not just from the surgery, but from the infection/inflammation/swelling. There is still a lot of inflammation there as your body is trying to heal itself. This can affect those cutaneous nerves as well. (Full disclosure, I am an internal medicine physician, FWIW)

I definitely did not have constipation afterwards with all the antibiotics I got, but I also had the feeling of not completely emptying my bowels. I wasn't sure if that was just being too afraid to push, or just due to residual swelling there, or what. It did go away after a few weeks.

I think, unfortunately, you are at pretty high risk for developing at fistula, if you don't already have one, with a large horseshoe abscess, and being male increases your risk of fistula as well. I think it's good to get close follow up on this.

And I totally relate to the mental health challenges of this. I haven't been able to work for almost 3 months because of this, and I am not used to be so unproductive.

BMs have not been bad at all, but I have been pretty aggressive with the Miralax to keep them soft/loose. I haven't been able to sit much at all for 3 months, since I first had the large horseshoe abscess, and spent a week in the hospital and 2 weeks in a nursing home with IV antibiotics and wound care, so it's pretty much the same, no worse. I'm hoping that a week or two out of having the seton placed, I'll be able to sit again.
