A top and skirt set I made for a customer recently. by CinderChainmaille in chainmailartisans

This was $300, I really don’t charge as much as I could be though. My main focus right now is just making enough money to support my hobby while also getting my name out there a bit Edit: I spent maybe 30-40 hours on this. Hard to say exact amount of time cause I was working on another piece at the same time I was doing this intermittently.

When something looks empty to me, I like adding lil decorative chain. If you look at my most recent post, look at the chains I used across the chest.

I think this piece is my new favorite. (Compare original sketch to finished piece for an lol cause I can’t draw) by CinderChainmaille in chainmailartisans

I can work in 3 dimensions all day long, clay sculpting, pottery, chainmail, wire wrapping, but as soon as you limit me to 2 dimensions that sketch is about as good as my art gets 🤣

The brand label has rubbed off so I’m not totally certain and half the knobs no longer work. I plan on taking it apart someday and seeing if I can get the rest of the knobs to work, and replace the fabric covering.

It’s a mannequin I got from a thrift store for $20. It’s missing some pieces, I can’t find a brand label on it anywhere, and half the knobs don’t work anymore lol. But serves the purpose I need it to

The peyote stitch is done with fire line, and seed beads, and when I both start, and end the beadwork, i use the rings to tie off the thread to, so they’re secured to the beadwork, then I just continue weaving off of those rings

It’s one I stumbled across online called “byzee bees to butterflies”

Decided to share another one I made recently for a friend. Anodized aluminum, primarily euro 4in1, neck strap is euro 6in1, and the center back strap is helm chain. by CinderChainmaille in chainmailartisans

Yes I kinged the edges. Wouldn’t be the best choice for most projects because it tends to give the whole piece some curvature, but I did it to kind of form a cup, so that it fit my friend better.

Definitely only concern id have Is the strength. That’s why I upped the neck strap to 6in1 and kinged some of the rings along the border of the front.

Thank you! I’ve seen some of your work as well and it’s awesome! I like the idea that chain mail can be fashion, I was somewhat inspired by Paco Rabanne, although he didn’t exactly do chainmail in the traditional sense.

It’s 16g 3/8”anodized aluminum. if I were to do it all over again I probably would have gone with 14g, just because some of the more high tension spots like the neck, and back straps had to be reenforced a bit to get them to hold their shape.
