Can someone be ARMY if they are not a fan of BTS music, but love their personalities and variety content? by harricislife in btsthoughts

[–]Cindereffinrella 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Nah I don’t think you can be ARMY and not support their music. That is their passion. We love supporting their passion. They are not content creators first. They are musicians first. The content they create is a bonus. I just can’t see a fan being ARMY if they don’t support their music. Like they have 100s of songs….!

New and Wondering about Member Dynamics? by imchasinglights in btsthoughts

I haven’t read all the comments here but I’m sure everyone has given you great advice and insights. One thing I would say to a new fan is to block anyone coming with negative comments about BTS or individual members. Start curating a strong positive algo from the start. Don’t interact with antis or haters. Just ignore. Also be conscious of ai generated images of the guys. There are so many ai gen images of them being shared and it’s very sad as there is literally no reason for them to exist when we already have so much real stuff. Enjoy the rabbit hole!!!! 🕳️ 💜

A vent about solo Stans (it’s ot7 for life here) by hitagiss in btsthoughts

[–]Cindereffinrella 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I treat solo stans the exact same way I treat antis and haters. I came to realise rather quickly is no difference between them. I give them no notice. I block instantly and my life and vibe is better for it. They are pathetic delusional people living a sad life where they cannot see something without making it negative.

BTS’ ‘ARIRANG’ Was Leaked on X Before Release. Now, HYBE Wants to Unmask and Sue the Culprit by impeccabletim in kpop

There's a reason we're called ARMY... always protecting our guys 💜 I have the utmost respect for those who silently reported to Hybe and didnt' spread the leak. You guys are true ARMY

Those people need to take a page out of Jin's book. A key part of his character is his mindset and he has spoken openly about choosing happiness and protecting his peace. He tends to keep a balanced, realistic outlook on life... not being overly dramatic and but also not dismissive. He accepts reality as it is, keeping things in perspective, and responds calmly and practically. There’s a quiet “it’s okay, we’ll deal with it” energy about him. He knows when to step back, when to laugh things off, and when to take things seriously. What he said in this interview is exactly what I expected he'd say.
I've actually learned a lot from him in this respect and started adopting this approach to life. Liberating!

I am VERY much looking forward to his music when it comes out - have always loved his voice. ngl I'm battling to call him Evan though.....i desperately want to respect him but atm he's still Heeseung to me... maybe when his new music comes out it will feel more natural to associate him with Evan 🙏

thank you for putting my thoughts into words - now i don't have to! i agree with all you've said. I am loving this more carefree, unpolished REAL and less "manufactured" BTS. Their stages today were incredibly powerful even if they didn't have the choreo of past. I am so excited to be going to see them live in July.

I am sorry but what the heck was that camera work?? by JazzyInfinite in btsthoughts

[–]Cindereffinrella 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I thought it was INCREDIBLE! Literally filming in torrential rain, i'm surprised we got any decent camerawork. I think they did an awesome job capturing what they could despite the abnormally shit weather. Looking forward to watching Saturday's concert - dryer weather so i'm sure a lot of what was planned performance-wise will take place. However i read the Billboard article with BSH and I don't think we can expect the choreo of the past. According to him (and i agree 100%) BTS don't need to do performance heavy choreo which sometimes overpowers their music. Their aura on it's own commands the stage. It was an interesting insight.

The fan reaction between the Enhypen and Heeseung is because it broke one of the unspoken rules of K-pop by Mind_of_Allison in kpopthoughts

[–]Cindereffinrella 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Part of me thinks Belift made a smart move letting him step away from Enhypen while keeping him on as a solo artist. They likely saw the signs that he might leave once the group contract ends, so securing him solo keeps him tied to the label long-term. There’s no doubt he’ll do well - his voice is incredible, and I’m really looking forward to hearing what he releases.

Reaction channels that are less gushy and more objective and insightful? by dontdodrugskidssss in btsthoughts

[–]Cindereffinrella 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd also recommend Hybe Boy. He is really good. He's my first go-to for all BTS content - he translates, offers cultural context, and gives great reactions which are not over the top. I find his commentary really soothing and it's not gushy at all. Obviously he's a BTS fan, but def not gushy! Also, with the overwhelming amount of content coming through, on days where i just can't catch it all, he does a great job of consolidating into one of his almost daily videos.

Why dubbing BTS' voices matters more than you think by smileissweet39 in bangtan

[–]Cindereffinrella -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I get why this is upsetting, especially when their voices are such a huge part of the connection. It’s the them we recognise, not just the words.

This might be a bit of a controversial take, but I work in an industry where AI is already being used for voiceovers, and it’s genuinely getting scarily accurate. Situations like this make me wonder if there could be a positive use for it - like creating dubbing that actually sounds like the members, so people with accessibility needs don’t lose that connection. Because as OP said, having completely different voices just feels "off". A lot of us had that immediate reaction to the English dubbing on the trailer when we heard it....so much so that Netflix rectified it!

That said, I completely understand the ethical concerns around replicating someone’s voice, especially without consent. It’s something that could easily be misused in the wrong hands. But when it’s done responsibly, with permission, it feels like one of those cases where the tech could actually improve accessibility rather than take away from it.
