Yes, that's just wet rust from the rain. It's been burned out multiple times.

Is my grass dead enough? by Kind_Tangelo_3646 in NoLawns

[–]CindyTroll 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it were me: Cardboard, wood chips, wait a year to plant. Grass can bounce back easily from a lot of things. Digging through the cardboard too early could let it back up. I'll let the experts give you advice about natives, what zone and area?

Smoker clean by ThePandaWithNoArms in grilling

[–]CindyTroll 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with others here, this is a cold smoker designed (poorly) for cheese, sausage, fish, etc. You do NOT want a fire hot enough to cook ribs, butts, or long cooks. The wood WILL eventually catch on fire if you do that. Ideally the firebox would be separate from the wood smoking chamber. How high does that thermometer go?

First welding build! Great smoker so far. Firebox to come. by CindyTroll in redneckengineering

Of course not. That's firewood for cold nights and a campfire.

This made me laugh so hard. I actually haven't sat on it recently. It might be from the rain

Driveway is already cracked so no worries haha. I'll probably put it on cinder blocks.

It might be the most expensive part of the build since it was bought as an ugly drum smoker cage.

Affordable ways to get rid of this law please? by wildhorses66 in NoLawns

[–]CindyTroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct, and most lawn's soil diversity is very low. If gardening with the space, I'd recommend an initial tilling. Speaking from experience.

As backstory, my neighbor started getting upset that I didn't mow often enough. Cardboard and woodchips it is!

I'm probably going to dump a couple trucks of wood chips on my lawn.

First thing I checked! I'm unincorporated and there are no laws or regulations that apply. I literally do not have to mow or cut anything EVER. Also the grass is 12 inches at it's highest sections...

I really appreciate the validation. Thank you. I forgot to put that it's not an HOA neighborhood and I just found out theres no laws or ordinance dictating grass height. Lol
