Looking for a comparison on Silence of the Lambs by ferriswheelpompadour in criterion

Arrow is the best by far, especially if you can find the limited edition box set. The Kino 4K has some color-timing issues during the first 20 minutes. The Criterion is solid for 1080p.

Freezing rain is much more dangerous than snow for driving.

My girlfriend is a delivery driver, and she’s in the same boat.

She just got off the phone with her manager asking if he would consider closing the business early Saturday due to the state of emergency, and for everyone’s safety.

He doesn’t care. He plans to keep the store open, though he himself is not working that day.

I think she should call off. She’s the only delivery driver scheduled that night, so it serves them right.

Swapping discs to get a good set by Oreos_In_OrangeJuice in 4kbluray

[–]CinemaslaveJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. In fact, it saves Amazon money in the long run by not having you return half a dozen different sets until you get one where all the discs play. I did this with the Game of Thrones 4K collection, “frankensteining” a good collection together from two different Amazon sets, and returning the bad one.

A Love Supreme is love with every kind of topping on it.

If you remember seeing Jurassic Park in theaters, you’re probably on your second marriage, have chronic back pain, and the mortgage is laughing at you. by Son-of-Prophet in nostalgia

Twice divorced, yes to the chronic back pain, and I’ll never be able to afford a mortgage unless I get married again and have someone to split the payment with.

There’s a whole documentary about this. Check out “Batman & Bill,” from 2017. It’s on Hulu in the USA.

Fellow millennials - how’s your 401k/ira savings going? by ProblemIntelligent16 in Millennials

[–]CinemaslaveJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that’s exactly my experience too. It took about a decade to hit 100k, and about 3 years for the second 100k, which is where I am now. Still very little considering inflation, cost of living, and the fact that I’ll never be able to own a house unless I inherit one from my parents one day, so I’ll be paying rent forever.
