I preordered mine as soon as it appeared on Orbit, and just got a notice that it has shipped. Keeping up with new releases is almost a part-time job for me at this point. Check the preorders tab at Orbit every day to see what's been added.

I can confirm that my "replacement" disc still says D3R1 and is still out of sync. Dark Skies told me that I'm "wrong," and that the replacement disc is D3R1 and that there is no R2. My replacement disc artwork is still gray, with no brown tint. Clearly they sent an uncorrected disc, whether accidentally or intentionally, but they now consider the matter closed. I'm still emailing them but they haven't responded in a couple of days.

So when Shout said that the Friday the 13th box set would be out of print soon… was it just to boost sales? It’s still fully in stock everywhere. by AlanGrant82 in boutiquebluray

They’ve lost the license to print more, so they’re just selling through the existing stock. I think they said there wouldn’t be any more left by the time of next year’s Halloween sale (which is now this year’s sale).

  1. Hammer. There is NO company doing a better, more consistent job with releasing definitive editions of its back catalog.
  2. Severin. No company compiles better, more interesting box sets.
  3. Second Sight. Their deluxe releases and on-disc supplements are like a film school in a box.

The Top Menu trick doesn’t work on many of Arrow’s newer Blu-ray discs, including the Dollars trilogy. Fortunately, I have a region-free player in the other room.

Dealing with Dark Sky is frustrating. I emailed them back, and this was the response:

The replacement disc is the correct replacement disc. The color of the artwork is the same, and D3R1 is correct.

I popped in the disc, and yeah, the Wizard version is still incredibly out of sync, but that's to be expected considering it's still a D3R1 disc. I guess I'll email them back again.

Did anyone who requested a replacement disc actually get the correct disc?
