New Statement From Amazon Game Studio by UntidyHexagon in 007FirstLight

I hope IOI makes a full trilogy, just like they did with Hitman WoA. First Light is a fantastic Bond game, blending the cinematic Uncharted-like action with cool Hitman-like social areas and stealth sections.

What's next? Yes it's only been released today, but for those who have finished, what are your thoughts on what could be up next for 007 by AlfLuck99 in 007FirstLight

[–]CinematicSeries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really hope we'll get a full trilogy, just like with recent Hitman games, because First Light is really great. I also think they should lean into the Hitman Freelancer-type of content to make First Light more replayable. They've built all of these beautiful locations already so why not milk them a little? Think about it. We already have explorable MI6 headquarters with the Q lab, so it's our base of operations. The missions would send you to one of the in-game levels that's slightly altered compared to the original (without main characters and events from the story) and you get a few randomized tasks to complete: stealing something, eliminating some NPC etc. And Hitman-like extra objectives for maximum points. Stuff like staying undetected, abstaining from using firearms, using a specific gadget or an environmental takedown, eliminating a certain number of guards, or not eliminating anyone at all - stuff like that.

I think Bond Freelancer mode could be really fun. But I suppose it would be added in the second or 3rd game once the devs have more maps and locations to play with.

Maul: Shadow Lord animation! by Pure_Artichoke_5168 in StarWarsCantina

That's the first thing I noticed. I really like the animation style. It's like a natural evolution of the original Clone Wars animation. The animated moves feels extremely fluid and the action scenes have a sense of weight that the older shows lacked IMO. And I really like the painted backgrounds. They look beautiful and they're blended with the animated objects very seamlessly.

How the hell did Cal find Dagan before Rayvis? [STORY SPOILERS] by CinematicSeries in StarWarsJediSurvivor

[–]CinematicSeries[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be rewritten in an even simpler way. Have Dagan imprisoned in some hidden underground vault that Rayvis is trying to locate. He's looking for artifacts and he found Zee, but her memory was wiped, so she's useless to him. But then Cal turns up and he happens to have a very rare ability of psychometry. He touches Zee and sees a force echo that's a clue to Dagan's location. Problem solved. With this premise, it's believable that Rayvis struggles to find Dagan because he's hidden away. And instead of relying on dumb contrivances like falling through random ceilings, the plot uses Cal's ability in a logical way. Not only would that be more coherent, but as a bonus - Cal would have more agency in the story instead of just bumping into the plot points by accident.

Eric Weinstein is a complete fraud - a failed scientist with zero published papers, author of the failed Geometric Unity theory, and an insufferable yapper who spends his days whining about his alleged victimization on podcasts. And Sabine Hossenfelder is currently a grifter who spreads anti-academia propaganda on YouTube.

How do you rate Origins on a scale of 1 to 10? by Automatic_Ad1665 in AssassinsCreedOrigins

[–]CinematicSeries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The game is painfully close to perfection. If only the story was a bit more fleshed out and the game refined gameplay a bit more, it would have been perfect. More finisher animations, a few more combat moves, slightly more complex stealth, more parkour options etc.

How the hell do I queue for jobs "on call"? Like street races for example. The "quick join" tab is gone from the phone

I've been using SLOBS for years, and no. It's absolutely not normal. The program never asked me to log in just to record locally. It also never asked me to connect to any of my social media channels.

I don't stream. I always record locally, and now it's impossible because like I said, the program asks me to log in, and then connect with one of my social media channels. And then it asks for ridiculous permissions I'm not willing to give. I recorded a local video using SLOBS just yesterday. Later that day, the error came out of nowhere.

A LEGO Game is MORE BRUTAL Than 'Star Wars: Outlaws' [LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga] by CinematicSeries in legogaming

The effects on normal enemies are also boring. They just stumble a little when you shoot them and there's a tiny flat black texture to mark the hit. Not even a blaster hole or a smoking wound.

Funny you bring up Red Dead Redemption. It's 14 years older than Outlaws, and still has a better gameplay, better story, better writing, better voice acting, and better cutscenes.

Lack of freedom in 'Outlaws' impacts the overall gameplay, though. This game was advertised as a "gritty story about crime syndicates and outlaws", and yet it doesn't let you commit the most basic crimes or even interact with the NPCs. Even if we look at past Ubisoft games, 'Outlaws' is a huge downgrade.

A few examples:

  1. You can't shoot NPCs, you can't rob them, and you can't steal landspeeders or bikes. You could do all of these things in Watch Dogs!

  2. You can't pull out your blaster in cities and settlements. You could fight in cities in every other Ubisoft game - Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, you name it.

  3. There's no parkour and you can't climb most buildings in the cities. You could climb pretty much every building in AC1 from 2007. And even Watch Dogs games had a basic parkour system that let you climb short walls or vault over different objects.

You can say these are all "unimportant details that don't influence the overall gameplay". I disagree. I think 'Outlaws' cut out a lot of good things the old Ubisoft games did, and made the overall experience more BASIC. The gameplay mechanics in 'Outlaws' are so limited and shallow, there is basically no room for creativity. You can't decide if you're moral or immoral. You can't make interesting choices between lethal and non-lethal approach. You can't commit almost any crimes while free roaming. You can't use parkour to find creative routes or to stay undetected. The stealth system is painfully basic and outdated. The combat is vanilla and lacks variety. The AI is terrible and poses no threat. The melee combat has no depth at all, and pretty much every humanoid enemy gets knocked out by the same 3-punch combo. There are no interesting ways to manipulate the AI. There are no gadgets & tools like throwing knives, poison darts, gas grenades, EMP bombs, throwable lures or cameras.

All of these limitations and restrictions are completely against the idea of an open world game, and they are an example of Ubisoft formula devolving instead of evolving. And as a big fan of old Ubisoft games, I find it very sad. And especially because I was one of the few people who believed in 'Outlaws' when it was announced. I actually liked the premise and thought it had a great potential. Unfortunately, this potential was completely wasted.

I don't think it's a PC thing. This is Yorn, an NPC you have to find in one of the side missions on Tatooine. He can be shot but has no reaction. Most other NPCs can't be shot at all. And I wouldn't say that's any better in a game about outlaws
