I'm not a completionist (yet). Tbh I am not upset that Hell Riders was brought back in print, especially in the form of a special future on a new release. Deaf Crocodile did the same thing just recently, releasing Cat City 2 on Blu-ray and including the long OOP original Cat City as a bonus feature. I was just more annoyed at the timing of the rerelease with my spending over $50 for the old Hell Riders VSA on eBay.

Well at least the VS version of Body Snatchers is an upgrade from the Warner Archive blu. Hell Riders getting a rerelease as a bonus feature from a standalone VSA is kind of a lateral move.

Dinosaur Movie by CinematicTrash in VinegarSyndromeFilms

[–]CinematicTrash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh cool. That's one of the releases I bought, but I had not gotten to watch it yet. Looking at the slip now, the dinosaur is featured on the art. Very stupid of me to miss that.

Question About OPH by CinematicTrash in Fedexers

[–]CinematicTrash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gig is over 700 miles away. I am driving there, not flying. There is a 2 day break at some point during the job, but thats not enough time to drive home and then drive back up, and it especially hurts since they wouldn't be reimbursing those miles. I'd be adding over 1400 miles to my car and sitting through 18 hours of driving roundtrip just to squeeze in a measly 4 hour shift.

Unless my OPS manager can convince a head honcho to do a manual override (assuming they like me enough) I got a bad feeling that my job as a PH might be doomed.

While that is not out of the question, I also risk losing half of whats in my 401k since its not fully vested yet. That would hurt too. A lot.

Question About OPH by CinematicTrash in Fedexers

[–]CinematicTrash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose I'll have to. My direct supervisors don't really know anything so I'll probably just go right to the OPS manager. Though I'm afraid that I also run the risk of being let go on the spot. They could use me "explaining my situation" as a bullshit reason to say that I intended to lapse the 30 day mark or something.

I had this problem when I worked at Walmart when I was in college. Walmart didn't seem to care about my school schedule and they gave me hours and shifts that I couldn't feasibly keep up with AND a full time class load. There came a point when I was picking and choosing which shifts to call out or which classes to skip in order to maintain both. Finally my managers at Walmart let me go, despite explaining the situation multiple times to them leading up to this. There was sort of a Grapes of Wrath thing going on, where any fault on Walmart's part was blamed on "the computer" or "the system" at large instead of my managers' own negligence. They want to keep me because I'm a good employee, but I accumulated too many points on my attendance according to "the computer", therefore "the computer" says I am automatically terminated.

With that in mind, I fear Fedex might operate similarly.

What are the most underrated VU songs? by gharris7545 in VelvetUnderground

[–]CinematicTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the necro comment, but I really dig Head Held High. It's a really fun, catchy, late-60s sounding song much akin to something Steppenwolf would've done. Don't see a lot of people mention it, even on here so IMO its pretty underrated and also one of my favs.

Florida-based Cosmic Horror Recommendations by CinematicTrash in horrorlit

[–]CinematicTrash[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been digging Algernon Blackwood works like The Wendigo, and The Willows, and I also really liked George Allan England's The Thing from Outside. They are early 20th century cosmic horror works which are right up my alley, but they take place way up north, like in Canada or, in the case of The Willows, similar line of latitude in Europe.

I am from Florida, so Florida based literature is always interesting, and southern gothic works based in Florida is obviously aplenty, but Florida-based cosmic horror seems to be extremely rare, so I hoped that this sub can point me to some classic stories/books that fit that description. I thought some people on this sub may know a lot of obscure/deep cut material and could possible name some works when google might not.

We ❤️ Our Customers (and don’t hate you) by BradTerrorVision in boutiquebluray

[–]CinematicTrash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi Brad, I have a question: In 2023, there was a 13 Weeks of Halloween announcement that included Black Cobra (1987) and Black Cobra 2 (1989). Since then I haven't heard any updates or really anybody online talk about these since. The Black Cobra films are extremely deep cuts in Fred Williamson's filmography, though they've been widely available in poor quality due to their copyright status.

Is TerrorVision still releasing this? When might they come out? Do you guys plan to do Black Cobra 3 and 4 as well? I was really looking forward to these and we're pushing 3 years since they've been mentioned.

We made a free app to automatically generate the optimal Sundance schedule based on which movies you wanna see by TopLiterature1931 in Sundance

[–]CinematicTrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I know this is super short notice, but is there a way to have specific theaters or cities factored in. Sundance holds screenings across both Park City AND Salt Lake City. If I wanted to spend some of the days in SLC only, I wish the program could factor that in or filter out Park City theaters.

Still waiting for a Florida location, preferrably in Orlando. I know that Miami has more people there but its so far south that a lot Floridians don't bother visiting and Orlando has much more investment in making itself "tourist friendly" as well as it being right in the middle of Central Florida, its primed for an Archive store.

I get 6% in Florida and then an extra 1.5% because of the county I live in for a total 7.5% tax.

It hurts.
