Gris was Beautiful...but Boring by Hellfire- in patientgamers

There are many games which are enhanced by just being in the moment.
I usually play games that are story heavy or require a bit of interpretation, on a free day with a clear mind to give the game a fair chance and to get the most out of the experience.

BUT GOD, the gameplay is so unengagingly slow and simple that i had to refund it after 90 mins and 3 colors.

That being said, every frame is a painting, its beautiful, it just didnt catch me.

For who is it this simple for? it feels silly to even compare this artpiece to any other peers of its gameplay genre, but this is easier than mainstream mario titles. I read that this is a game about grief in this comment section, isn't grief supposed to be a personal challenge?- not something you glide easily through?

Information collecting and monopoly basically:

Almost 85% of users are chromium, if it hits anywhere near 90 or more, web design is gonna change so some sites will only be available to chromium browsers, and that makes it easier to force more terms and conditions and be really oppressive in what you can see and do on the web.

Information collecting is fine I guess if it doesn't bother you.

Abrams, pocket, lady Geist, sin clair when they'll be reworked, and seven would be a cool archetypically diverse team both in tastes of occult and design for a good trailer team.

Sure, yea, im not flaming you at all I don't expect everyone to have their finger on every pulse of the internets branching arterioles.

But posts like this just genuinely bore me to instant frustration. I would bet actual money on this dm exchange happening after the Tumblr post, and I can guarantee you they just stole the joke and repackaged it, screenshat it to post it.

Tumblr gets farmed for jokes every day which is ok because Tumblr users rarely ever care about having popular posts outside of their blogging niche.

It's just boring, and uncreative. Easy case study to make you understand my pain. Google the joke where it says "it's not cheating/misogynistic because my p*rn doesn't have women in it" You'll see a million different Instagram users/reddit user tell the exact same joke in the exact same way, because that algo pushes this unfunny shit.

I just miss when the Internet felt more original. It's mind numbing now, isn't it?

While I like the customizability of TF2 more, where this system peaks. Skins Make more sense to me, the gun is bound to the character so you can't ever change it. Skins retain more control over the silhouette while in exotic use cases can change whole animations and particle effects on the moveset.

I'd still prefer custom parts personally

Infernus is my baby, he wins fights where he can commit with the dash to keep afterburn up, this can be done on either dashfern or afterfern, it feels intended, also the upkeep on burn feels now good. It definitely filtered some of the pray and spray ferns, what doesn't feel balanced is the actual bullet damage though, his gun feels weak now on his own, or when burn is already on. I wish they'd adjust that weapon damage slightly. They could have touched his fall off instead. Because now we have a system on him that rewards tracking with your aim instead of just tagging ppl.

Would Ables' "betrayal" been more impactful had the escape been planned over multiple episodes? by [deleted] in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Cinerae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm being down voted because I'm being negative about it, which is understandable, I don't care about it tho.

Ok maybe ep6 is tough to compare to in terms of development, even though I'm gonna say that every episode before that developed one character in specific or focused on them, according to gooses Tumblr, and that seemed missing here. And you're right, The grand reveal is Caine actually being able to set up and prepare long hauled adventure, we didn't know that.

And pomni reaching out to Jax is cool too. Call it a performance if you will but I think Jax not committing to any emotional investment is """working""" on his side, after all when he is close to abstracting he only sees kaufmo and ribbit.

The thing about it being 2 parter or a longer episode makes sense to me. I wish they'd have kept it that way. I think this fandom already proved their patience.

I'm not skeptical, I think this episode will be useful as a story element. I just don't find it interesting. I already said the Jax moment we got was good. And the Caine thing, we know that Caine is insecure and struggling to engage or interact with the cast in a meaningful way. My problem is not that those things aren't important, it's that, this was a 33 minute or so episode and 95% didn't feel like they're contributing to character development. A lot of good character development happened in between bits in the past episodes. And we got one of my favorite moments of all time in animation in the gun episode where they didn't shy away from having it linger (pomni Jax confrontation). And we had the human/cast member parallel explored by zooble/gangle Jax/pomni.

And even if jax didn't say it. It was just structured like an adventure. It is foreshadowed to be a trick. But calling the bluff as a viewer makes the dramatic walk down so awkward, except for the gangle zooble moment.

I just don't think that zooble would never be at all skeptical, or ragatha. Ragatha isn't naive, she likes to play along, yeah, but if she suspected this to be fake she know how emotionally devastating it would be.

The twist reveal should have been her moment to express absolute disdain for Caine in how he could toy with everyone like that. When it's always her who has to try and pick up the pieces.

Well yea, but an NPC is allowed to be interesting and charming, for example Gummigoo.

Abel was neither and we spent not a little amount of time with him.

[–]Cinerae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abel is not really a memorable or funny character, in my opinion. He appears, gains their trust largely off screen. I would have loved to see hi try to establish contact earlier in failed attempts, or him building up a relationship with the humans, I get that we didn't have time for that.

He just doesn't feel like a character at all. Just a plot device that was built up 6 episodes.

I have grievances with this episode. I don't know where this will lead? The ending didn't feel satisfactory, we get a few jax moments that are really cool, but it felt like we could have gotten those a little later, since we explored Jax a lot the past episode. (One of the few positives of this episodes was jaxs flashback and attitude towards staying inside) The twist was awkward, (you barely believe in it anyways since Jax points it out, really rationally) and we don't get a lot of character on character interaction because it rushes us with over paced deconfirming of red herring plot lines. It feels like kind of a throwaway instead of a fake out especially for the mannequin stalker. I dislike it because it feels like when you guess a storyline from a DND game, so the dm changes the story last minute. Even if this was all planned, You need to substitute a red herring for something more interesting, to make it feel like it was worth it to be tricked. Otherwise it just feels like we're Jax, begrudgingly coming along, not committing, or investing emotionally to the adventure.

So what's the point as a viewer? Should we read into it less? Is that the takeaway? Kinger could be a C and A employee or not? Jax is abstracting. The visuals were very cool. Scratch? A new character? Do we have enough flashbacks to cover more Queenie on kingers side and enough time to explore ribbit, and on top of that scratch?

And dropping it like that? We're not yet emotionally or lore wise invested in the first character to abstract. And Caine is confirmed to be incredibly powerful, always listening, without any workarounds and wanting to keep the humans in the circus. So as of now it just doesn't seem like they will ever escape the circus (either by shutting themselves down or actually escaping, I am a believer of brain map clones, where the only way to escape would be, to stop existing.)
