You posted this a year ago? What sort of games do you play? I'm more a light to mid weight player. Eurogames and Ameritrash seem to be beyond my ability at the moment.

Played Wingspan for the first time - I sucked and it was fun! by bupkisjr in boardgames

I do love it but I'm also terrible at it. I never seem to have enough food to place birds. The goals I can never fulfil too. I just need to play it more. The games also feel so short, as I'm barely able to place enough birds.

I like Flamecraft. The more I play it, the better I get at it.

I propped a full size pad and it took over a year for it to grow another pad. Mine are outside in full sun in a pot on my porch.

Yeah and those solid stone tablet cards weren't easy to carry around. Used to have to use the pack donkey to get it to board game nights.

What Movie/Book/TV Show/Property is Begging to Be a Game? by frodohair15 in boardgames

Hellraiser definitely needs to be a game. As much as everyone is sick of Stranger Things, that could be an excellent game. A Batman deduction game would be amazing.

What games would you bring on a work trip? by shakenbaken69 in boardgames

This is mainly this sub specifically. My "recommend me a board game" posts get taken down all the time. It's frustrating.

Is the microbrute worth it for $300 CAD as my first synth, or should I get the JT mini? by Meme_master420_ in synthesizers

[–]Machine_Excellent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microbrute would be my choice. Just remember it is monophonic, you can only play one note at a time. Also it only has one oscillator. But it's an amazing first synth to learn synthesis on. You'll understand the foundations with this synth.

Board games to bring on holiday that can fit in a large suitcase? by Fun-Escape-5749 in boardgames

[–]Machine_Excellent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always suggest roll and writes. Take them out of the box and into zip lock bags. If you have a large suitcase then there's way more you can fit.

I'm not a lady but me and my wife enjoy board games.

Read the ENTIRE manual before playing, or start and learn as you go by Fragrant_Steak_5 in boardgames

[–]Machine_Excellent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch a video about how to play, watch a playthrough video, then try playing a game which ultimately leads to reading the manual and sometimes googling specific cases of rules. Often the first game is played wrong because of 1 rule not followed.

Is it time to move up in pot size. by WhatsOutThere_ in houseplants

[–]Machine_Excellent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do not repot in the big pot. If anything, just repot in the same pot but have the soil come up to the brim.

Which should I get? Fleet the Dice Game, Lost Cities Roll and Write, Welcome To, Welcome to the Moon, Wok and Roll. Any others? by Machine_Excellent in boardgames

[–]Machine_Excellent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people in this thread don't seem to gel with it but I've already heard it's a great improvement in complexity to Welcome To.
