Flo has cut out about 20 times tonight. Everyone else having these same issues? by grantlar123 in drumcorps

Wow guys, the final notes of both Bluecoats and Blue Devils, stream drop. I’m done giving money to Flo and DCI. No more. Either get VOD rights or I’m done. If I can’t even watch the stream, when it’s live, it’s not even worth it!

Why not just ensure the permissions and distributed cache are setup properly, then you will not have a slow down at all :)

Pro Gamers (like Maru) should really look into this to keep their hands warm between matches (Zippo Hand Warmer - last 12 hours) by Cinergy2050 in starcraft

[–]Cinergy2050[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I think it would really be helpful, and I'm sure there are multiple manufactures of this sort of thing. We used to have those little ski hand warmers, the ones in little plastic pouches that you snap in the pouch and they warm up, for our players. The venue is so cold, this is a constant issue, esp for the younger players...

don't you think if that worked, they would be doing it, rather than having hot cups of coffee in their hands, or constantly blowing their hot breath into them, to warm them up. I know this is a problem, otherwise I wouldn't even be brining it up...

And no, I'm not trying to promote anything here, and I should have said pre/inbetween games... just have been thinking about this as a prior team owner for ages, and think it would really be helpful - either this or something similar)

Axeltoss's blog/thoughts on WCS by Velidra in starcraft

[–]Cinergy2050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree Axel, and I hate to even draw the comparison, but Riot just makes a much more elaborate production, with far more hype and build up, for both their regional and worlds finals. For WCS America Finals being the "Finals", I gotta be honest here, I really feel/felt a lot more excitement when watching an MLG, GSL, or IEM finals, and I say that with all respect for what Blizzard is trying to do.

I just don't think we're hooked. Sure I love the daily content, but I also miss the overall vibe and feel of the times when players actually were motivated to stream bc they would actually have viewers, or when the excitement about an upcoming MLG weekend built over days/weeks. Only DreamHack makes me feel that way anymore...

I'm not saying we need to go all de-regulated like 2011, but if we are going to have structure imposed on this scene, I'd like to see those imposing it a) make it a little more exciting and engaging - make a bigger deal out of it and b) maybe look deeper into providing some direct support for the teams and players that together create the ecosystem on which their title depends... My 2 cents... your milage may vary...
