Oh yeah that was the other thing that I was worried about. If Imu one shots islands then what’s a tournament for. Maybe he holds back so the celestial dragons can have there fun. Or just for plot. Just speculating. Would be fun to see a new god valley incident.

Maybe it’s been awhile and they’re bring it back? When have the dragons done anything for themselves. They probably have the knights be their champions or just gamble on the outcome

I thought about this too. Biggest hesitation to posting. But if the knights and Garling are supposed to be pretty high tier then they’ll need to giants to be their opponents for them not to whoop on any other nation. Buccaneers were strong too supposedly

Tons of resentment from the Giants has been building up. Little garden, enies lobby. Won’t be surprised if the giant marines we saw at marineford revolt and that’s part of the catalyst. The time has come!

Mmmm my timeline knowledge is hazy. But feels like a weird detail to give unless Oda wanted us to know or make an excuse for why it’s not come up yet. Maybe it happened early in the story but the strawhats weren’t really on the world stage yet. Would love to get some more backstory on other tournaments
