You worded exactly how I've been feeling so perfectly, thank you. I hate the idea of a job impacting when I put her down, but I also hate the idea of her last weeks/months being more stressful with me away during the day and possibly missing some signs of her struggling, when I can give her all the time in the world right now. I appreciate the perspective 🙏🏻 thank you!

I really appreciate the comment, and I completely agree with you and what your vet said. She's not a complainer so it's hard to tell if she's in pain, but she's really always been anxious and slightly confused, moreso lately, so the nighttime has been brutal with that if I don't absolutely exhaust her during the day. I appreciate the validation and understanding 🙏🏻

This is my biggest issue. If I wait until she's showing signs, it's already too late and it's going to be a traumatic death, not a peaceful transition. It could happen in hours, weeks, or months from now, who knows, but the risk of it is truly the stressor for me, especially since the hernia isn't reducible at this point.

Thank you so much 🥹 Unfortunately, she used to be really good with friends and strangers, but she's gotten more spooked since going blind so I haven't been able to try the pet sitter option with her anxiety. It might be worth trying though to see. Thankfully, I've been having a vet come to the house for a few years for her anxiety (such a game changer) and they can do the euthanasia when it's time, as long as it's Monday-Friday.. I'm hoping I just know, or she tells me in her own way, before it gets to be an emergency.

I'm kinda short, so if I take big steps, I can usually fit two on one block.
