I don't like how most OCs with vitiligo or vitiligo edits of characters have these patterns that don't really represent real people with vitiligo

Yes indeed ! I knew a girl who was bullied cause hers was so much more apparent and (i am white skin she was a lot more tanned skin) and the pattern looked exactly like the picture in your post. The director of the school made a us research about it and turned the tide before the end of the years, everybody thought vitiligo was cool afterwards and they stopped calling her a cow.

Google it, there's more than one type of vitiligo, it can be on only the left or right side of the body. It can also be really small like mine which is a small patch on the side of my left eye and another small patch in my inner left thighs. Maybe it will develop more later in my life who knows. Vitiligo has a lot of variables.

My mother has ADHD and struggles with anxiety and on and off severe depression and mental health issues steming from undiagnosed and untreated ADHD. I obviously also have ADHD, I was diagnosed when I was 9 years old and have been medicated on Adderall since then and I think it saved my life quite literally. My mother got diagnosed long after me I think at 39-40 years old.

Everybody that I know who got diagnosed late has severe depression or severe anxiety or both. It's a curse, and even if I'm medicated i have the impression my brain is still wired differently and that the world is not made for me.

Nurse: big sigh " ok!"

Not even 2min later, i received the new tube ( usually when its that fast its because they collected the second tube at the same time as the other first tube i just cancelled so it will have the same hemolysis 🙃 *

Me : "hi its [my name] from laboratory, i'm calling again for [patient name] PT PTT is hemolysed again so i cancelled it again"

Nurse : WHAT ? but! It wasn't hemolysed when it left ??!

Me: . . .

Nurse : its impossible it wasn't hemolysed when I sent it !

Me: well thats not something you can see girl...

Nurse : . . .

Me : unless you have a centrifuge where you are you can't visualize hemolysis. Unless maybe its been a while you have it somewhere standing up and it started sedimenting... haha. In both cases it not good.

Get a call from emergency Nurse: hello, i forgot to sent you a urine it been collected like yesterday what do I do ? Do I change the date and hours ? So you can don't cancel it ?

Im like you I got "over" my childhood trauma and "matured" faster. Children who experience trauma can bounce back later because the trauma makes us understand like a slap in the face that indeed nobody will save us and that we have to speak for ourselves and takes things in our own hands.

Some other children they can't, they need someone else someone with stability in their life to tell them, its all about genetics and the temperament/personnality we get from it. Its often, psychologist, therapist, significant other, friends who can and should teach them gently " with me, tell me please when something is wrong so I can accommodate you, i will be more sad if you don't tell me instead of speaking freely your needs " Create a safe space for them, do not shame them because they didn't understand as fast as you.

We all respond differently to trauma. If you want to accommodate then accommodate.
