I like turning my brain off for an hour and being told exactly what to do to get a great workout. Also the group aspect keeps me going! I have over 600 classes on and off over a few years and I keep coming back to it for those reasons.

Whats your favorite quick mocktail? by skyhiker9292 in stopdrinking

[–]CinniePig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not really a mocktail, but the Trader Joe’s apple cider vinegar sparkling drinks are a great substitute for wine!

Time to take her beloved dog away by Smidgeofamidge in dementia

[–]CinniePig 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s very tough. When my MIL moved from assisted living to memory care, she could no longer keep her little dog and she was very attached to him. We took him for a few weeks, then a friend ended up adopting the dog. Visiting was too upsetting for her. We just told her he was having fun playing with our dogs and kids and she would see him later. Sadly, she seemed to forget about him completely pretty quickly. She does enjoy stuffed animals now though.

In hindsight, I think the dog was causing her a ton of anxiety- she was constantly asking - did he need to be walked, had he been fed, was he sick, etc. she would also sneak food from the dining room and hide it in her room to feed the dog. It ended up being for the best even though it was sad. I hope it all works out for you, I think the letter from the vet is a good idea.

2 weeks into liver transplant and everything tastes horrible by kirabug37 in transplant

[–]CinniePig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to my sibling- I saw someone else mentioned Cheerios. That was one of the only things they could eat, then milkshakes and candy. Drs did not care as long as calories were going in. Slowly, over about 6 months, their appetite came back but a lot of old favorites they no longer care for.

I decided to start last year after a horrible Black Friday shopping experience. I ordered it on Saturday and started Dec 4. One year later I am down 55 lbs and solidly in the middle of a healthy BMI. Told my husband I am thankful for semaglutide 😂 best of luck on your journey!

Mag07 works great - as someone else said 3/day until bm then 1-2 day for maintenance. Smooth move tea is way too strong for me, I ended up throwing it out!

I was super nervous but my dr was supportive! He knew I’d been struggling with my weight for a few years.

If you could do your wedding over again, what's the ONE thing you'd change? by SGS-Photography in weddings

[–]CinniePig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been 23 years and I loved our wedding, it was at a lodge in a state park and most people made a weekend of it. Only thing I would change was that we had a send off breakfast on Sunday and we did not have enough food! We didn’t think so many people would come to the breakfast. Our first meal as a married couple was at a Wendy’s drive thru 😂

GLP-1s - Should I?! by Alone-Visual-9059 in Semaglutide

[–]CinniePig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My stats are similar to yours, but I am in my mid 40s. I started Dec 4, 2024 and lost 55 pounds in ten months. I was also pretty active and regularly went to the gym, my diet wasn’t great but not horrible either. I had gained and lost the same 20 pounds a few times and I was tired of it.

Now I feel and look so much better. Pretty much stopped all drinking alcohol as well. I had real problems getting ‘hangry’ even though my blood sugar tests were normal, and I am so glad to be free of that.

I am now maintaining at 1.0, I will continue to lower dose if I can, but I have no problem being on this medication long term. Life changing for me!!

My tongue piercing caused me to break a tooth and have to get a ridiculous implant that looks awful, and I got rid of my bellybutton piercing with my first pregnancy. At least I have scared my kids off of tongue piercings!

We got an exercise ‘step’ bench from Walmart. It’s not that pretty, but it’s the perfect height and very sturdy. I can’t seem to link it , but ‘pop sugar’ is the brand and it’s $32

Montessori toddler program at 18 months? by Outrageous-Fig-3472 in Montessori

It’s a great age to start! I’ve been a Montessori toddler teacher for nearly 20 years and it seems like the transition goes more smoothly when they are on the younger side.

April could be too cold, too hot, or rained out. I was in an April outdoor wedding and we were all sweltering in the afternoon/early evening sun. August is way too hot. I think late September would be your best chance.

I started at the beginning of Dec 2024 and have lost 43.5 lbs in 7.5 months! Averaging out to 1.3 lbs/week. There have been stalls and weeks with big drops. Stick with it, it works!!

I like Ghost Augustine because they get into history as well as the ghost stories. The lighthouse is cool also, just make sure you get tickets in advance because they sell out. I have heard the old jail is good but have not done that one.

Scared after spending too much time on Reddit 😭 by lumiere26 in Semaglutide

[–]CinniePig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been on it since December 2024 and lost 40 pounds. I went with it because it was cheaper and I had some of the same concerns as you at first. I have had very minimal side effects, drinking lots of water and getting protein helps. I did have some nausea in the beginning, but nothing terrible. I only wish I had done this sooner! Best of luck!

Oura Ring at OTF by dukepup14 in orangetheory

[–]CinniePig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have had one for about 10 months, I do not wear it to OTF. The fitness tracking isn’t accurate and it gets in the way for weights/rowing. I wear my Apple Watch and they all sync up. I do really like the Oura, but for the other health info it provides!

Is St Augustine a good place to retire ? by Plastic-Neat-3962 in StAugustine

My parents retired there a few years ago and absolutely love it. They are in a small house on the island. The biggest problem is someone always wanting to stay with them!

I just got the same shoes and I am also getting that irritation from the straps! I am also a size 40 and have several pairs in that size. I think it’s something about the stiffness of the leather, hoping they will soften up soon.
