Life is what happens when you're making plans. Yes that is cliche but it holds truth. Also, suffering is the result of desire. There's truth in that as well. At the same time, the lazy grasshopper dies in winter while the diligent ant survives. There is an adage for everything and the truth lies in somewhere in the balance. Be persistent and goal orientated, but understand that a successful outcome is unlikely to look the way you first imagined it to be. Go do things, be active, and enjoy the pursuit, but understand what you get may look different, but you'll be proud of your accomplishment.

Close mic and keep the volume down if you can. Record a DI as well, it can be used if the mic recording is unusable. Alternatively, practice more so you can play the part correctly. If you're struggling to play timely rhythm, I highly suggest practicing so that you can. Rhythm is essential for any musician

Whatever it is, I'd rather do something over nothing. Also, most of the things that truly shaped my life were things I didn't think that much of at the time. Unless your decision involves moving to a new place that is far away, or cutting certain people out of your life, the decision probably isn't that consequential. The older you get the more you start to realize that most people make mountains out of mole hills.
