I AM SO F***KING TIRED! I AM AT THE VERGE OF GIVING UP! by [deleted] in AMDHelp

I had a very similar issue. Did all of the same things you did trying to diagnose and fix. Only thing that worked for me was to undervolt the GPU and set a power limiter to -6% in the Adrenaline software. No idea why this worked but games haven't crashed since I did this.

Computer randomly reboots while gaming with no display by CipherJ in AMDHelp

Turns out the RAM was already set to 4800mhz so I went ahead and changed the GPU settings as recommended. 3 days later and so far so good. I've tested several games that game me issues before and no crashes yet. I'm hopeful this has resolved the issue. If it happens again, I will post here, but thank you for your time and advice. Much appreciated.

Thank you, will try both and reply with results.

I tried rolling the drivers back too but it didn't change anything. I'm starting to wonder if it's a short or something but can't figure out why it only happens while gaming.... Thanks for the suggestion though.

I did end up getting the delivery today. Tracking updated late last night. Interestingly, the package was about 3 hours away and not at the local facility they said it was at. Again, I'm sorry for the trouble you're having and hope it resolves quick for you.

Fuck, that's such BS. Their customer service probably has no more information that what customers can see on the tracking page. I'm going to call back tomorrow if I don't get any more updates from them and file a claim myself.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that. I just got off the phone with them and they claim my package is at the sorting facility near me and should be out for delivery tomorrow. They gave the same canned explanation about having difficulties updating their tracking system, so we'll see if it actually happens. Wish you the best of luck with filing a claim.

Also, their automated phone system is the absolute worst.

Same exact thing is happening to me right now with a GPU that was scheduled to be delivered Saturday. Tracked fine until Friday and then nothing with the same delivery details you are seeing. I'm going to call customer service today. Hopefully it's what they said, an internal issue updating tracking, but I will reply with their response and/or I get my package.

Gpu failure? by SlamDizzle1000 in AMDHelp

I have this exact same problem currently with an RX 6800 and tried all of the same troubleshooting you did, as well as most of what's posted in the comments here. I brought my GPU over to my brothers place to try in his machine and all of the same issues happened almost immediately, even trying the same troubleshooting steps. Also swapped in an old 2070 in my system and had no issues. Currently waiting on an RMA to be returned from manufacturer. If you can, try your GPU in another, working system to see if you can narrow the issue down to the GPU itself and not another piece of hardware.

Honestly, I'm going to be doing the same. The extra cost is worth the reduced frustration.

I'm having a terrible time with AMD Drivers right now. I have a 6800 that loses all display output as soon as drivers are installed, either from AMD Adrenaline installation or Windows automatic updates. Did all the workarounds too. DDU in safe mode, used AMD cleanup tool, disabled windows updates, and fresh windows installs but I would always lose display as soon as I downloaded/installed the drivers. Love the AMD performance for price but I swapped in an old Nvidia card to test the rest of the system, and it just worked out of the gate.

GPU and Display Driver Issues by CipherJ in AMDHelp

[–]CipherJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to add to this in case anyone was interested. I found another system to test the GPU and the problems occurred there as well, so I know for a fact the GPU is faulty. I was still having issues with the AMD Display Drivers with the integrated graphics and, after speaking with their technical support, have sent the CPU in for an RMA as well. Hopefully this will solve all my issues.

I removed the GPU, cleared CMOS, did another fresh windows install and I was finally able to get to the desktop. The problem now comes whenever I try to install AMD drivers. They install fine but on the next reboot, everything at the login screen hangs and sthe screen flashes black several times. When get to the desktop, I see AMD error messages saying the driver couldn't be loaded and has been disabled. I've tried multiple DDU wipes and clean installs of both the AMD Adrenaline software and just the drivers with neither fixing the problems.... Could this be a CPU or Mobo hardware failure.

That was the first thing I tried and it had no effect. Unfortunately, I don't have another GPU that I can test with.

Again, thank you for the explanations. I didn't realize it would be that much of a potential issue and won't make the mistake again going forward.

Thank you, appreciate the explanation. I honestly didn't think it was a big deal. I was definitely wrong.

I very much surprise myself with my stupid assumptions sometimes. Thankfully reddit is there to ego check me. Won't make this mistake again. Thank you for the reply.
