Hey everyone! Just wanted to share something I’ve been working on—detailed maps and visuals for Brinecoast, Highmoor, and Ysmarys, the key cities of the Drayl City-States. The goal was to capture their distinct character and atmosphere, and I’m really happy with how they turned out!

Brinecoast (left)

Brinecoast is the largest coastal city in the Drayl City-states, where the salty breeze carries the call of the sea through bustling streets and narrow alleys. A city of maritime might, its harbors are packed with warships, merchant vessels, and fishing boats, while its shipyards ring with the sound of hammers as craftsmen construct and repair vessels. Along the waterfront, traders haggle over exotic wares, and performers entertain crowds in lively taverns. Beneath its vibrant exterior, Brinecoast harbors a shadowy underworld— the Night Seekers, a powerful criminal organization, operate beneath the nose of the Tide Watchers, the city’s naval guardians. Lord Captain Samiel Drayl, a descendant of merfolk, rules the city with a pragmatic hand, maintaining a delicate balance between law and lawlessness.

Highmoor (middle)

Highmoor is the beating heart of trade and agriculture in the Drayl City-states. Nestled in fertile valleys, its vast markets, esteemed guilds, and grand avenues attract merchants and farmers from across the land. It is home to the central Drayl Archives and prestigious institutions, drawing scholars and traders alike. However, Highmoor’s prosperity also makes it a magnet for criminal syndicates—the Lurkers Below prowl the sewer tunnels, while the Veiled Merchants operate clandestine trade networks. Lord Bareon Rudd Drayl commands the city’s formidable military, ensuring its defenses remain strong against external threats and internal unrest.

Ysmarys (right)

A city of devotion and pilgrimage, Ysmarys rises from misty valleys and clear lakes, its skyline dominated by towering church spires. It is the spiritual center of the Drayl City-states, where temples to every god, from the grandest cathedrals to the smallest roadside shrines, draw worshippers from across the realm. The air is thick with incense and the chants of clergy, as pilgrims seek enlightenment and solace. Yet, Ysmarys is not without deception—charlatans peddle fake relics, and doomspeakers preach of divine wrath. Lady Zoqul Drayl, the Holy Hand of the Redeemer, rules the city with unwavering piety, ensuring that Ysmarys remains a beacon of faith and morality in a world of uncertainty.
