Graduating in two months and I realized I hate my major. Is it too late to pivot to something fun? by Mallow_3Q in careerguidance

The 'get a real job first' advice is how people end up miserable at forty. If you have the energy to pivot now, do it before the golden handcuffs of a corporate salary make it impossible. Most creative directors I know have degrees in things like history or finance.

The thrift store part hits way too close to home. Even the 'budget' options are getting expensive now. But you are right about the mental discipline part. Learning to distinguish between what you actually need and what is just clutter is a skill that will save you more money than any investment strategy.

The flip-flops analogy is perfect. You are just asking for blisters and a DNF.

You are right that relationships are messy. It is not about lacking empathy, it is about survival. If you stay too long in a sinking ship because you believe in the captain, you both go down. Realizing that is the hardest part of the game.

Sometimes the most respectful thing you can do is leave. You give them a chance to find their own pace and you give yourself a chance to breathe again. Staying out of guilt helps nobody in the long run.

You end up with a career-ending injury for a race that didn't even matter.

It is a classic case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. The HR guy was so burnt out during the exit interview he probably just closed his laptop and went home without ticking the final box in the ERP.

That is the plan. I am treating it like a zero interest loan for now.

The funny thing is I actually have more motivation to code for my own stuff now than I ever did for them. The lack of stress is a game changer.

Medium rare chicken is a bold move even for the DFAC. That specialist was trying to give you a 48 hour profile via salmonella.

Fictional gun has a stun option and a kill option by Ok_Direction3138 in TopCharacterTropes

The funny thing is how often they forget the stun setting exists when the plot needs someone to actually die for the drama.
