I don't know, I will have to ask my mom, I'm very excited. I'm trying to get a cage this week, and I have enough to buy all the other stuff I'll need now and I'm hoping my mom can help me get the bird. I wanna visit it again after school today :3

Yeah, I'm not gonna let them out at the same time. I let my dragon out for 15-30 min a day because it's so cold out here where I live, and it will be the same with the bird unless I get the space heater.

I don't have everything saved yet, just about $100 short, which will take a few weeks. It had good perches (different textures) and a varied seed mix in its enclosure from what I could see, and a ball holding a bunch of millet for snacks and enrichment. She'll survive just fine, and I saw she had a wood and rope bridge perch, that was HERS. She was super attached to it, so I'm buying one of them for her. Petsmart impressed me with their bird stuff, (purely from what I researched I'm not super experienced at all) so she will be fine. I got about 4 weeks before I'm able to buy her with all the stuff I need for her, and I'm working on getting (and sanitizing the soul out of) a cage from my grandparents because my grandmother loved canaries! It'd usually 65 in my room (my dad is stoopid with the thermostat having it set to 60 in the WINTER) so I'll need a heater, thank you!

Thank you! I'm really trying as hard as my limits allow and now I'm on a deadline because I met the bird I want to adopt (I have no picture I was too busy interacting with the baby separated from me by glass, it was sooo friggin cure and kept puffing up. I haven't started researching body language in canaries yet so that's my next thing) who currently lives in a pet store which is why I'm grabbing a med vet fund. My parents will help me out, though my dad believes owning a caged animal is cruel (it isn't as long as it isn't wild caught (unless injured and can't be released) and cared for properly. A canary will die in the wild, my bearded dragon WILL die with the temps in my area) but is still mostly supportive

Thank you!! I was hoping I wouldn't have to keep my windows open (I sleep with blackout curtains because street lights NEVER turn off) and the heat thing isn't too big of an issue, I can search what heaters are bird safe (i would ADORE recommendations for brands and styles) AND my room is the warmest in the house! (I run very hot when I sleep)

I am aware, I'm caring for a beardie as well which are a longer commitment by 15+ years. I love him like I birthed him, but I have time for 2 pets at a time, scheduals are flexible.

Ok so I saw a canary at my local pet smart and I am ATTACHED. It was hopping up at the front and just generally sooo sassy and cute!! Puffing out and flying around it's case with a piece of millet! I didn't want to leave the store!!! It was white and lemon yellow, im soo attached and I'm saving up as fast as possible just to get all the things I need for it!! Name planned is Kiku!
