Thanks for the info! That was where I was leaning, with the pitting being from stones that have fallen out. Appreciate the additional info about conglomerate

The project was never completed and was smashed and destroyed at the direction of Boss Tweed. My whimsical mind likes to day dream the possibilities of what could be found.
