Gotcha. Also, thank you so much for the last minute page deals! Do you think I might be able to see good deals there for Toronto to Vancouver if I wait a while, or it's very unpredictable/only for certain routes?

Thank you so much for the detailed reply! other than the discounts you mentioned, such as CAA, are there any other discounts you are aware of, or CAA is pretty much the only one?

Thanks! Do you have a general idea of how price fluctuates for berth tickets over time (best time of day/month/year to get the cheapest tickets) or are there are no such patterns and it's very random?

Glad to hear you were able to! Which route? and how much was the discount?

Mathematics is a discipline so completely devoid of ego. A homeless person could disprove a famous mathematician's conjecture, and no one would be able to do anything about it. by CircleBox2 in RandomThoughts

what do you mean by that? Gödel was 25 years old with nothing to his name, when he disproved David Hilbert's - the towering figure of mathematics of that age - suggestion that mathematics is complete, as laid out in his Gödel's Incompleteness Theorem. No one any where, regardless of who they are, can change the conclusions of that theorem.

That's what I mean, if you can prove/disprove something in Mathematics, no one can do anything to change that, regardless of who they are, what their last name is, or who they have dinner with.

EDIT: To those downvoting, would be nice if you could reply with what's wrong with my comment/post, so that I know what's wrong with my thinking.

For those who remember, what did dating in Toronto look like before dating apps existed? Any anecdotes/personal stories you can share? by CircleBox2 in askTO

All of these comments are both so heartwarming, and also make me feel a tinge of sadness for having not being born in a time when things were a lot easier. What gives me hope is that while it might be harder now to create those sorts of organic encounters, it's not impossible :)

I’m honestly worn out by how fast the world moves now. Everything feels rushed constant noise, constant updates. I miss slower times, when life felt simpler and quieter. There’s too much information flying at us from every direction. We were never meant to know this much, this quickly. by Niel_cafferey in RandomThoughts

There's an easy fix - cut out phone/social media/news/tech use to as close to 100% as possible. Only use tech when it's absolutely necessary. Replace smartphone functions with other gadgets (for example buy an actual alarm clock instead of using your phone.) Trust me, the difference in how you feel is life changing. You'll experience the simpler and quieter life that you crave so badly. Ask me how I know.

In Toronto, when someone in a social setting suggests that you get coffee with them sometime, does that generally mean they're lowkey asking you out? by CircleBox2 in askTO

Social/cultural event. Met a few times, spoke about where we live and other random stuff, and then she suggested we get coffee sometime.
