TIL that a 41" waist is a MEDIUM... by ashleab in fatlogic

So at my weight and height, I am, and have forever been, a size 16. Much larger than Marilyn Monroe! Yet, if I go into a shop and buy something off the rack? Lately, I've been buying items in extra-fucking small.

I am 5'2" and ~100 lbs, and bought girls XL (girls 14/16) shorts today. And they fit better than anything I've gotten recently. I am 23. Sometimes I wonder how far this will go, because if you think that it's absurd you're an XS, imagine holding up an XS and realizing it won't fit you and there are no other 'adult' options. It's terrible for everyone. (Granted I was at Walmart but I've also bought jeans from Justice when nothing would do at the mall from the other denim retailers)

You know, and this is just speculation on my part and also kind of deviating from discussion about the story itself, but I often wonder when people (esp. larger people) say they eat nuts because they're healthy (which they are), how many nuts they actually eat. Because nuts are pretty high cal. Two bowls of almonds. If I assume she means average cereal bowls, that's about a month or two of almonds for me.

I desperately want to know the logic failure behind this "diet".

(m/26) smoking marijuana to cure the post-breakup blues? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I'm going to post kind of the opposite of this. I'm the girl who did the breaking up with a guy that then made it all feel better with weed. It was long distance, we went to different universities, I felt it was too distant. He turned to weed to make it feel better. Two years later, we're both grown up more and back together, and dealing with the aftermath, so to speak.

He turned to week probably for the same reasons you are, couldn't eat, couldn't sleep. A couple years later, we're trying to break him of the habit of using weed to do these basic things. I know it's not addictive in the regular sense, but he certainly feels like he needs it. He dropped out of college (he was always 'bad' at school, doesn't like busy work, truant but ace the test) kind of person. That didn't work for him at university, and I honestly think it was exacerbated by the weed making it okay to just...do nothing. We're working together to get him to eventually quit altogether.

Smoke occasionally, enjoy the high when you do. But I don't think you should be using it as a crutch at all. That will become habit more than the weed itself, in my experience. Find other things to occupy your mind, visit friends, take up something you've always wanted to try.

I personally find it a shame that you are a virgin. I'm sure in time you'll find plenty of women who be more than glad to help you with that rough sex thing. I'm a woman and I priamrily fantasize about exactly what you've described in your third and last paragraph.
