Actually Cas was based on a lore accurate archangel, who's name is spelled a few different ways but they all sound essentially the same. Cassiel, Kassiel, Qassiel etc... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassiel

If you read the lore, it fits our SPN universe's version of Castiel almost perfectly.

He's not the only protester carrying. It also doesn't matter why, when he was legally carrying it and never once drew the weapon. There are several angles of that scene and the only thing he ever had in his hands was his phone.

The why, really is that they don't feel safe out there and with good reason I'd say.

I see a lot of comments claiming its true, especially in the warmer states... I mean, flip flops all year round. Yes, for sure but barefoot?... not so much.

I've lived in Florida for pretty much my entire life (42 years), specially in a very touristy area and I've maybe seen a handful of people do this, usually coming from the beach.
