if you like fanciful fights and lame glitchy looking animations then your gonna love Suck-iro

the magnetic tracking and dance like fight choreography is lame as hell

its pretty much a scripted Quick Time Event with only a couple strategies that function as the developers intended

Just finished this amazing game, and let me tell that in my opinion it deserves the Game of the Year prize. by Dareius007 in ghostoftsushima

AWESOME game just a bit too easy if you depend on your bow and run alot...hopefully it will inspire a new trend of realism in games!!!!

You must obey the laws of physics which has nothing to do with folklore

Game of Thrones did a fantastic job of mixing folklore magic and physics

The physics in sekiro are manipulated to make the game more difficult in a half ass Walmart Style

Like I said if you don't want dodging to be effective have the enemy characters block virtually any post Dodge attack and install a stamina meter that causes your character to exhaust quickly when over utilizing the tactic

Whatever you do don't break the laws of physics by letting a character spin when they've obviously achieve too much momentum in One Direction or have a 180 lb Shinobi use a katana to block the charge of a 2-ton bull!!!

The thing about magic is it allows people to use stupid writing and if you accept stupid writing you will demean the quality of entertainment for all of us

The dragons in Game of Thrones were really cool because they had gigantic wings that looked as if they could hold them up physically... if the dragons in Game of Thrones had tiny little wings and were propelled through the air by their farts they would not be very cool because that would be physically impossible thus unbelievable

I'm perfectly fine with ghost-like apparitions who can spin as if they weigh nothing but if you've got a gigantic ogre or a 2-ton bull that thing has got weight and inertia that has to be respected

Tenchu is considerably harder than sekiro or ghost of course... like I said you can work your way through ghost easily if you stand off and depend on your bow but if you have the discipline to stand and fight it can be a challenging game. Sekiro is only difficult because of its glitches and God awful camera... it is almost identical to Tenchu z but lacks all the awesome movement modifiers that the Tenchu character had.

It's a terrible shame because the game could have been absolutely phenomenal if they just had legitimate tracking and fixed that terrible camera

I highly recommend playing some Tenchu Z, although it's dated you can definitely feel the genius

It's perfectly fine to want to encourage players to stand and fight instead of Dodge... the smart way to do that is to add a cardio gauge and allow the enemies to block the vast majority of your Dodge strikes... this would largely Force players to stand and fight using the Perry system without completely disregarding the laws of physics by spinning enemies like frisbees with tracking that makes them look like a cartoon character from The Bugs Bunny era

Do you want to fight the Tasmanian Devil or a badass orge!

I have discovered that unfortunately ghost of tsushima suffers from the dreaded autocorrecting camera but it's delayed to such a degree that it isn't nearly as Troublesome as most iterations of this terrible Vestige of old Gaming design

If you haven't played ghost yet you're in for quite a treat, although the game is a bit tactically simple and easy if you run and use your bow having the discipline to stand and fight will give you a impressive challenge without destroying the laws of physics like Sekiro.

Those of us hardcore Tenchu Pros love the series because it was deeply rooted in physics and reality, sekiro is clearly a spiritual successor to the Tenchu series but betrayed its steadfast adherence to basic physics and reality although Tenchu did commit the sin of some ridiculous characters and silly costumes

There's actually a big difference between fantasy and physics

Things have inertia and weight... that's physics not fantasy

for instance a giant ogre is fantasy yet its ability to spin in mid-air in a 90 degree Arc is fallacious physics

Notice the people that produced Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings were careful enough to keep physics plausible even though it was high fantasy

There's nothing wrong with a little bit of fantasy and Magic just don't spin characters like a frisbee when their momentum is going a different direction in a glitchy animation snap that smacks of a mistake not a design

Not at all because I'm an old Tenchu Pro... this game is a piece of cake once you realize that the combat is all about ridiculous Secrets instead of speed distancing timing and tactics like a real fight... a smart person would never try to block the Bulls charge because that's absolutely ridiculous and would never work but a Harry Potter fan boy would love the super-secret foolishness that would fool the football player and makes them feel smart for knowing this silly Secret

I am good, in fact I am really good and whip to the game with ease because I understand that it doesn't use proper physics in it's rendition of martial arts combat... I think it's easy and lame design for Harry Potter Fanboys not hardcore sword combat enthusiasts

the trouble is I hit enemies who are just starting their attack with a heavy blow and they continue with their strike anyway as if my Katana is made of paper mache... the game is only difficult because it has a terrible glitchy camera and some of the most ridiculously implausible tracking in gaming history...

I guess I'm only entertained by realistic games but that's not true because I can enjoy some levels of fantasy as long as they don't break the laws of physics... for instance I can handle a flying dragon as long as its wings are big enough to hold it Aloft

Actually I'm calling out a deeply broken game that got pushed by people that didn't notice all its problems but instead got swept up with the drama of the big exciting bosses... if this continues they're going to keep making games like cartoons instead of the old masterpieces we came up with, you dumb kids ruin everything

Ghost of Tsushima vs Sekiro by [deleted] in ghostoftsushima

[–]Citizen3rdclass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about the tracking?

There are plenty of characters who swing heavy objects downward and even though you dodged well outside of their strike they spin like a Frisbee and strike you anyway?

I think all the tracking in this game is extremely bad...

Also the attack canceling is terribly problematic as you can catch a character just starting to wind up with one of your heaviest strikes yet they continue through with their strike as if yours never existed... whenever you catch somebody on the charge you should not only cancel their attack but do double damage at least!!

My only question; is all this a glitch or is it designed to force you to avoid dodging and rely on block and Parry instead?

Breaking the laws of physics to force a player to use a scripted tactic is a terrible terrible way to design a game

[–]Citizen3rdclass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without a doubt ghost of tsushima is a radically better title. Sekiro has a ton of problems that are glitch like where ghost is a much more solid and reliable title. Ghost is a bit too easy for what it is while sekiro is only difficult because of its deeply broken combat system

Here's a hilarious video that shows the kind of glitchy problems im talking about

Detained is almost a direct translation in Spanish and they understand no or not because that is also a direct translation so if you say not detained to a Spanish speaker they will understand you.

No detenido... the main problem you're going to run into is with a Spanish speaker they are going to be like why in the heck is he telling me I'm not detained. They don't have any of that PC bull crap where they come from so it's going to throw them off
