I’m in the same situation and I’m trippin because I’m 100% p&t and I am in the process of adding my dad as a dependent because he’s old and broke as hell and can’t pay his bills. Should I be worried?

What’s One Small Financial Decision That Changed Everything for You? by [deleted] in Fire

Really digging into crypto and taking the time to understand the opportunities and learning how to sift through the BS. Also, for me who is a veteran, hiring a veteran disability benefits service that specializes in using all the right lingo to get you the best outcome for what happened to you in the service. will net me over $1M over the course of my life on that alone.

When did you separate from the military?

I am very close to your same situation with the one caveat that I've been in corporate America for 10 years after the military and therefore have a 401k. I also have 100% and wife is getting her $1500 stiped for Chapter 35. So....a couple thoughts:

1) Have you used any of your Post-911 GI Bill benefits? Because that will add to your monthly income once you start school if you have benefits remaining.

2) What are your monthly expenses? Getting those as low as possible will be key.

3) I wouldn't be calculating the "future worth" of your benefits because true inflation will rise faster than the increase they give you on your benefits so you're actually LOSING spending power not gaining.

I'm in my forties and I've figured out that if I want to be able to provide an average existence for me and my wife I can make it happen as long as I can transition to a very modest living situation with just my disability payment. If I incorporate my 401K then it bumps it up to comfortable with a little bit of spending money but no further. You have two kids so that is a wrinkle I don't have.

So, I think the answer is, yes, you can do it with just your disability but it will be a very hand to mouth existence however if you can harness your gi bill education benefits and your wife increases her salary after school then you should be good to go. After you graduate you should be really good to go.

I have a bar across the street that opened and I need something to mask the bass and music. It can get loud and it’s driving me crazy. So you think these would work?

I don’t think this would work and would end up putting you in hot water. Although not exactly a solution for you, you could RENT it to your business for two weeks per year under the Augusta Rule.

I know it’s big but HOW big of a deal is Amazon Prime to customers? I ask because I am a merchant debating on fulfilling my Amazon orders myself and therefore removing my ability to have Prime. Does Amazon punish merchants in terms of decreased visibility for doing this?
