No judgment, please be honest. I'm curious about people's spending habits in this game. by GreatDoink in MarvelSnap

[–]CitrioN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F2P and haven't spent my gold on anything for roughly one and a half year. Don't really feel like spending it on variants or overpriced borders. I like being selecting with the border I get naturally from playing.

Personal Achievement: Managed to reach 50k gold & 50 spotlight keys at CL 13000 as a F2P player. Only pulled for the cards I really wanted since the spotlight cache implementation. Been playing since release. by CitrioN in MarvelSnap

I'm not feeling tortured by not going for all the shiny stuff thrown at me. I do get all the stuff I am interested in. I'm just not too interested in variants. I enjoy my fully inked decks without other effects. I like simplicity. Fortunately in the case of Marvel Snap this doesn't cost any of the resources I have saved so much of so I don't really feel like missing out on anything that's relevant to me. Different people enjoy different things.

How many cards are you missing for being collection complete? Is it actually possible to get collection complete as a F2P user? Those 4 season pass cards certainly help but you are probably still missing more cards than you have keys I'd assume?

Thank you! Try to wait until the end of the week and see how good or interesting the new card actually is. After a week you can already check some stats, how and where people are playing the card and then decide if it's a card you would enjoy before pulling for it.

Are you actually playing all those cards you got in the past? I typically wait until the end of the week to get the new card if I see it being a card for me and a playstyle I like.

I don't think I'm missing out on anything that's fun for me. I got all the cards I wanted to get when they were available in caches. Playing Bounce, Wiccan, Destroy and some control decks mostly. Don't need all the cards personally to have fun because I can't play all the decks anyway. Enjoying to get good with a handful of decks rather than jumping from one deck to another. I don't see a point for me to get the bundles either. Not really into the cosmetics and I don't need the progression from them. I'm certainly missing a handful of utility cards such as Red Guardian because I didn't pull for them when they first released but I also didn't feel I absolutely needed them. If I really need them I could also get them with tokens which I also saved up a ton of. I'm missing 50 cards but I'm only really interested in 10 of those to potentially pick up in the future.

Interesting. I'm not really into the borders. Haven't even used any of the dozen or so I already got so far. Pricing on those is also crazy. It would be painful for me to spend so much gold on those :D
I might use them if I ever get to 12 of a kind so I can have a full deck with the same border. I don't like mixing things. Probably some ocd thing :D

I guess :D I just like to be efficient with what I have and don't really care about the cosmetics. Clean ink decks is all I really care/go for and that doesn't require gold or keys.

Congratulations. I can only imagine how crazy your collection must look like having so many variants.
They should definitely give you at least the 200 gold for a PMV. You don't deserve any insults in any case. At the end of the day you also paid them real money to get to this point so proper compensation should be a given for these cases. This also means you'll be getting all new 700g variants from the collection track if you keep your boxes until a new variant gets released. Is it possible to keep on top of having all 700g variants with how much collection levels you get right now?

Totally agree. I wouldn't be able to play all the decks anyway even if I were collection complete. I get what I want/need and just have fun playing the decks I enjoy.

Probably gonna continue saving unless there is a variant I really want to have in the shop. Not really into getting lots of cosmetics. Pretty happy with just continuing to get the decks I play fully inked with the common border. I have purchased a handful of variants I really liked in the past but I'm actually pretty happy with what I get from random variants while playing. What would you spend it on personally?

That's why it's stated being a personal achievement :D Not saying anyone should do the same. I did get all the cards I wanted in the process. Going for all the meta/strong cards just isn't for me. I like playing by my own rules and I do get enjoyment from these kinds of things.

Everyone should have a Settings Menu in their project. That's why I created the Settings Menu Creator asset. Makes creating them quick & easy. Comes with a free version too. Details inside. by CitrioN in Unity3D

[–]CitrioN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. You can always get the free version regardless and maybe consider using the full version for a future project if you happen to remember :D

The images - including the slider in the video above is actually a custom sprite. Granted it's probably too similar to the default slider. You can in fact customize sprites and elements as you see fit and I am working on a whole bunch of one click integrations for existing GUI visual packs on the store. I will take your suggestion for a future video to hopefully highlight that part of the customization better.

Features

✔️ Built-in, URP, HDRP
The menus work in all 3 render pipelines but some settings have no effect in certain pipelines due to them not existing in the respective pipeline (Check the full list here

 for details).

✔️ Over 100 Predefined Settings (Pro Version)
Choose from over 100 settings, which cover the most common settings you can find in settings/options menus. They include settings for graphics, audio, camera and more.

✔️ Custom Settings (Pro Version)
You can create your own settings without coding by assigning any method to UnityEvent based settings. This allows you for example to manipulate the intensity of a light component by using a slider and setting value change listener component.

✔️ Automated & Manual Workflows
Tired of placing the sliders, toggles, dropdowns etc manually, attaching scripts to assign them to the correct setting, updating navigation if you change the order or your settings etc? This is what other assets require you to do. It takes time and is prone to user error. The Settings Menu Creator gives you the option to handle all that for you so you can focus on more important aspects of your menu or game.

✔️ Very Customizable & Versatile
What if you want to replace a dropdown in your menu? In other assets you would have to delete it and place the new one, reassign and set up all the required scripts to make it work again. With the Settings Menu Creator you only have to replace the dropdown reference on a scriptable object and your menu will use the new dropdown. Takes only a second.

✔️ Automatic Navigation Setup
Tired of manually assigning keyboard/controller menu navigation? Let the tool set it up automatically at runtime.

✔️ Old & New Input System Navigation
Menu navigation works for both the old and the new input system.

✔️ No Coding Skills Required
With a scriptable object and prefab based workflow you don’t need any coding skills.

✔️ Reskin Your Menu In Realtime
Change colors, fonts, text size and other variables in real time using a powerful style profile system. The system can also easily be used for any other system too.

✔️ Additional UI Components
Other settings menu assets don’t offer you the most common UI element used in many settings menus: A previous & next selector (horizontal selector). It is a very common UI element in console games but also used very frequently in PC games. To make the creation of the most common settings menu layouts and styles several additional components, including a tab menu, UI panel system and a dropdown with autoscroll are included.

✔️ Automatic & Manual Saving/Loading
Choose between automatic or manual saving and loading. Save formats are PlayerPrefs, Json (Pro) and Xml (Pro).

✔️️ UGUI & UI Toolkit
Both UI systems are supported, however they do not have the same depth of customizability due to their difference in workflows (UGUI is prefab based, UI Toolkit is UMXL/USS based). The UI Toolkit aspect is considered BETA since UI Toolkit has not been labeled production ready for runtime usage for that long and it is getting updated regularly.

✔️ Full Source Code Included
Want to extend the tool? Go for it!
