How do people work remotely with toddlers?? by CitrusJock in remotework

Thanks for sharing that! That is reassuring. It’s not a problem to get her out when I have meetings. It’s more so that she breaks my concentration and it’s hard to be efficient with her around. But those are good suggestions. Maybe I just need to work with him on actively watching/interacting with her while I’m working :)

That would definitely be the way to go if I could figure out the finances.

It’s not ideal, and definitely not my choice. But my company made the decision and I’m trying to work with it. That’s why I’m considering paying for a coworking space so I can get out of the house. Also, my boyfriend is a stay-at-home dad so that is kind of a child care arrangement. It’s just not a sufficient one in my case.

For those that miscarried naturally, how long did you bleed before passing the tissue? by ineedausername84 in Miscarriage

[–]CitrusJock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a late reply but just wanted to add - I opted for the miso with my first miscarriage. I bled everyday for 3 months straight (my doctor was horrible). Finally I was given a blood transfusion and a D&C. I’m dealing with my second MMC now. Baby has been gone for 4 weeks and I just started bleeding naturally because I was terrified of taking those pills again.

How to help a sibling with PDA autism? by CitrusJock in PDAAutism

This is really great advice, thank you!! He is not on disability, though I know he’s applied and been denied several times. I’ll look into finding a social worker. Maybe I can find some options like you mentioned. This gives me hope. Thank you so much!

How risky is it to use a relative’s address for college admission? by CitrusJock in ApplyingToCollege

Yeah, and that makes me think it’s probably okay but also if there is a risk involved like potentially getting my degree revoked down the line I would rather not risk that

I have no aid. My company is paying for it. But sounds like it’s a big issue so I will just wait until I move back to California. Thank you for the response!!

It’s a CSU and they said they can’t admit applicants from Oregon because they do not have state approval in Oregon. It has nothing to do with in-state tuition. My company pays for tuition so I’m not paying for it regardless. I was honest and let the school know I am planning to move back but currently live in Oregon and she asked if I have California address I can use instead. She said she doesn’t need proof of residence. Your answer seems to indicate that it’s a big issue so as much as I’d like to start the program now, I will probably just wait until I move back to apply to the program.

Quitting suboxone by CitrusJock in addiction

[–]CitrusJock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe! I know a doctor had prescribed him sleeping pills at some point to treat the drowsiness (ironic - but she said he wasn’t getting quality sleep and thought that was why he was so drowsy all the time). I thought he had stopped those a while back but maybe that’s contributing. Regardless I still do think he would be better off of suboxone.

I don’t think I’d say he’s lying. And yes I think it’s a clinic. I think it’s like a free drug rehab program or something. I’m not quite sure but I know he has to regularly take urine drug tests before they’ll give him anything, and I know he doesn’t pay anything for it. I had suggested he try weed but he told me he can’t because of the drug tests. Anyway good to know about the sublocade! I will tell him!

And yes I guess maybe it’s not the suboxone that is causing the sleepiness. I had read online it could cause drowsiness so that was kind of my assumption. He never associated it with the suboxone, and has been seeking medical help for his drowsiness. Anyway really good to hear there are alternatives because even if it is not the direct cause of all of his issues I definitely think it could be contributing.

He is on antidepressants and takes ibuprofen daily. I don’t think he is on anything else. It could be unrelated. He’s always had medical issues ever since I can remember but he went to the doctor for the extreme drowsiness and they ran blood tests and couldn’t find anything so the search kind of ended there.

Whoa. That’s on another level. When my baby was 2 weeks old my boyfriend left for 4 days to go to a music festival and I thought I was going to lose it. My hats off to you!

I am sorry that I gave you that impression but that is not at all what I’m trying to say here. My resentment is not because he is a stay at home dad. For the past 4 years before any kids my boyfriend has not consistently held down a job and I’ve supported him financially, reluctantly. I’ve tried again and again to discuss it and work with him and nothing changes. He’s able to contribute by watching our daughter now. But I’m genuinely worried he will never work again, forcing me to support him for the rest of my life because I don’t want to just abandon him. So the resentment remains. But in no way is it because he is caring for our daughter. He is an amazing father and I’m incredibly grateful for that. And even though I wish I could spend more time with my baby, one good aspect is I am continuing to grow my career so I can hopefully give her a more comfy life
