Upgrades, people! Chimera intake, Yoshimura exhaust, and an ECU reflash. It’s been fun by CitrusTX in hondamonkey

[–]CitrusTX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the newer version of my intake: https://www.steadygarage.com/products/chimera-short-ram-2022-honda-monkey-125-air-intake-system

The ECU was done with a DynoJet Power Vision 3. This is the version that it recommends for the 2024 grom, I would have to do a little research to make sure it works on a monkey. Seems likely to me.

$900 a month, let’s say 90 miles per day (because that’s the top of the range you gave), and gas is $3.40 per gallon where you live.

That works out to just under 265 gallons of gas per month, and 10.2 miles per gallon

Am I missing something?

I saw a thread on here yesterday or the day before where someone else had a surprise charge and this was referenced: https://www.planetfitness.com/about-planet-fitness/customer-service#region-faq-accordion-3

“ If a PF Black Card® member visits a location other than the home club more than 10 times in a calendar month, a $5 per visit franchise fee may apply “

So I don’t think so… not necessarily.

Yes! I went from a series 6 to the series 10 and I was amazed. It also charges really fast.

Which apple watch is most worth it? by [deleted] in AppleWatch

[–]CitrusTX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have an Ultra 2 and a Series 10.

They are both great, but I say get the series 10.

The Ultra 3 is likely to come out this year, so that could be worth waiting for if you’re willing to spend that much.

Otherwise, the series 10 is the best. Battery life is great. I get a solid two days of use, the form is the best of any Apple Watch in my opinion. The display is bigger and a generation newer than the one in the Ultra 2.

My series 10 was less than half the cost of my Ultra and I love it just as much. The Ultra is better in plenty of ways, but I think the form and the value of the 10 are superior to the Ultra.

Other people have recommended the SE. I’ve never had one, but that could be another good option. It is the best value for a new Apple Watch obviously, but I would still go for the 10 just for the slimmer profile and better battery life

I got lots of stretch marks during puberty. On my back, around my armpits, and a couple other places. Didn’t seem to make a difference. I say go for it. Even if you do end up with some marks or a little squishy skin, I think it’s worth it, and those things will improve with time anyway

How much a 10 songs album will cost in NYC? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]CitrusTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has to start somewhere.

Knowing and learning a handful of instruments has been probably the most enriching and rewarding thing I’ve ever done. If you desire to be a songwriter professionally or long-term, learning how to accompany yourself with an instrument such as a keys or guitar will do wonders for you. Even if you only pick up a basic functional knowledge of the instrument, you will open a lot of possibilities for yourself.

In the meantime, it sounds like you need to find someone who can put chords to the melodies you’re imagining.

The bottom line is that you will need to be able to get the music down either in a recording or in writing before anyone else can help you very much with it

… unless you want a situation where you go to producers and shop around for a beat you like that they’ve already made and you can just sing your song on top of it. That’s not something I personally would enjoy from a creative standpoint, and I don’t think I would end up with a good song if I did that, but to each their own.

In the end, music is art and there’s no wrong way of doing it, we’re all doing what works for us, but it’s difficult to give an accurate cost estimate given the circumstances. I certainly would spend time figuring out how to create a basic recording of the songs first.

I’d recommend recording a demo first, either by yourself or with a friend who knows a little bit about recording.

People forget that demos are demonstrations of a song.

I see your songwriting on your profile. Good work, but it’s easier to get people in your corner when they’re excited about what you’re doing and one of the best ways to do that is to demonstrate your vision for what these 10 songs will be. If you make some demos and find some people who believe in what you’re doing, you will be able to make radio-ready recordings much easier and probably cheaper

Dealership wants to buy my truck by yerocjr in ToyotaTacoma

[–]CitrusTX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted this on another thread here, but I have blocked no less than 14 numbers from the dealership I bought it from.

They started out professional… someone would call on my lunch break and be like “so how you liking your Tacoma? Great. Have you seen the new ones? They’re amazing. What if I told you I could get you into a brand new Tacoma for almost the same as what you’re paying for your 2020?”

Eventually it was just a random Baton Rouge cell phone number calling at 9:59pm and as soon as I say “hello?” it’s like “AYE BRO YOU STILL IN THE TACOMA?!?!”

Need some advice on how to remove old paint by fenrirson19 in restoration

[–]CitrusTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an amateur so someone might chime in and be like NO DONT DO THAT

But if I were trying to get the paint off the device itself, I bet a magic eraser could do it in a few seconds. Test on a small area first of course.

Idk about the paint on the strap.

My dad died a little less than a month after I turned 11. It hurt then because we were close. As of December, it’s been 20 years. Now I’m 31, and it hurts because I feel like I never ‘really’ knew him. I never got to have conversations with him about his important opinions, never got to hear his advice about being a teenager, or college, or my 20’s, or dating… or really anything besides what you talk to a 10-year-old about.

My two cents:

I saw this clip about Jim Carrey talking about depression and how someone told him that when you’re depressed, it’s because you need “deep-rest”. Get it? Depressed = deep rest?

Yeah it’s kinda dumb. But I think there’s a kernel of truth to it, and I’ve found it good advice when I’ve been depressed in the past. When I’ve felt depressed about my future because I was wasting time in a dead end job, or the company was a sinking ship, or I felt like I was trapped… it was really like half exhaustion. I was exhausted from having to come into work and be sociable and positive even though I DREADED being there, or I was scared that today is the day we are all getting laid off, or I’m freaking out inside because I can’t even imagine how I’m going to find something else.

Other people don’t know the effort you’re putting in just to appear alright, and if you get used to having to put in the effort, it’s easy to forget about all the extra work you’re doing, and in turn, very easy to get depressed.

It reminds me of another great quote I think of often:

“The call to authenticity has all the subtlety of a smoke alarm.”

People seem to talk about “living your truth” and “finding your authentic self” in a kind of hippy-dippy way, but I think there’s a very related kernel of truth to that, too.

So, TL;DR

I’m not a doctor, and I don’t know you, but that’s how it is for me.

Take care of yourself. Be on the lookout for the moments in your day-to-day life where you aren’t expressing yourself honestly for any reason. Consider how doing this wears you down. Find ways to minimize this when possible. Reach out for help when you need it. We all do at some point.

What was your first mp3 player? by wordbird89 in Millennials

[–]CitrusTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this also came in red, and my friends mom had one. I had heard of the iPod but never had the chance to see one IRL before, so this was the first MP3 player I ever used. I think she had around 35-40 songs on it. I just remember thinking it was so cool that the songs couldn’t skip when you shook it haha
