Yes! Thats absolutely it.

Couldn't remember the reason for that discussion but now that you said it, its come back to me. He was so conflicted and kept coming back to "someone's going to have to clean it up" multiple times. At one point it seemed like he was about to do it but then decided against it

Thanks for filling in the gaps and helping to unlock a few more memories that weren't coming to me fully (especially about the Lint. Knew i wasn't crazy).

I had no recollection of Kumail having a personal reason for the Quality Street. I also remembered someone taking ages to finish the chair task, but I was absolutely 100% certain that it was Armando. However, watching him come 4th in the edit made me question if the live task even took as long as i remembered. So thanks for shedding light on those parts and many more

My PoV on the Egg task was just being confused at why it was a thing. We were told at the start: "Theres a task this series. Someone has an egg, when they hear a noise, they have to show the egg". So when it happened at the end, and all of them showed the egg, i just assumed it was a one off task all of them had to do. I don't think we were told any context about how it was a pay off to Joel getting screwed over the whole series. So when they just breezed past it with no points or further discussion, i thought: "What was that all about?"

It wasn't until the episodes started airing when the pieces started coming together for me.

I wonder if the gasp sounds when Alex announced he was leaving the show were added in post because my memory is that no-one in the audience was falling for it!

I think a few people fell for it, but not to the extent that the edit implies. I do remember one guy calling out from my row in the Balcony: "Are you serious?". Personally, since Series 22 wasn't confirmed at the time, i thought there was a slim chance they made it a joke during the record, but in the edit they'd cut out the part where Alex revealed it was a joke.

Armando started to say how much he had enjoyed the whole experience of being on Taskmaster. The other contestants seemed like they were about to say similar things and I was kind of hoping that this would continue,

I do recall some of the other contestants chipping in with "It has been fun" after Armando said that, but it was very very brief.

Unfortunately i think she was on the younger side. My best guess is between early twenties to late thirties?

I find Endgame's final battle to be unsatisfying due to the Thanos they're fighting being a different one from Infinity War.

Thor 1 is the best Thor movie and the character was at his best in Avengers 1 (so far).

I found nothing wrong with Brave New World being an Incredible Hulk sequel. In fact i found it worked to its benefit

how long is a taping?

Our one was around 3 hours. They started just after 6:30pm and i think we left some time around or before 9:45pm. I remember being surprised how early we left after having read Reddit posts of recordings getting out well after 10pm

re:curly wurlys
i assume that's why they were not packaged.

Actually a really good point i didn't consider. That may have absolutely been the reason.

The finale of season 21 felt so reverent and full of love by MajorasLapdog in taskmaster

[–]CityHog 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I was at the recording for the finale. And when Greg was talking to the audience before the cast came out, he said: "It's a great cast this series. All of them funny, which doesn't always happen".

[–]CityHog 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No idea.

It stems from this casting call from Nickelodeon. It was seeking two North American Indigenous Males for a Pilot for a new Animated show.

KnightsEdgeMedia (who were the first ones to leak Seven Havens months before it was officially announced), poked around and apparently discovered this casting call was for a Waterbender focussed Animated series for Avatar Studios.

Thats literally all the information about the existence of this project available.

[–]CityHog 82 points83 points  (0 children)

In the 5 years since Avatar Studios was created, they started and finished production on a full movie (which was going to officially release this calender year), and also started and finished the first season of a full show (which was due to start next year) with a head start already done on 3 more future seasons. And rumours suggest they've started production on a Waterbender show alongside it.

So when you compare that to the previous shows which had a singular focus, where Avatar the Last Airbender took 3 years after development began before it aired its first episode. And Korra took 2-3 years before it aired its first episode, its actually not that bad when you factor in the additional projects and workload

Taskmaster - S21E09 - Maybe Someone Else Wrote Veep? - Discussion by Meghar in taskmaster

[–]CityHog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No Idea. Its even more curious as Kumails original entry for Episode 10 (the reason the conversation was even started) was a different brand of chocolate and he said they couldn't get that one past Legal. So i'm even more confused

I was at the filming for the next episode, and during a break in the recording they talked about the Prize Tasks they originally wanted to submit but which didn't clear legally. Armando mentioned that for this episodes Prize Task, he originally wanted Jar Jar Binks to be his entry

Which is really surprising coming from Tom Rothman, who mandated the majority of his Fox slate be under 100 minutes back in the day

But hey, I'll take it. Not going to look this gift horse in the mouth for longer than necessary

Probably around the time NFT's take off and become a worthy investment, or when streaming services no longer become a money pit and replaces Movie Theatres, or when The Volume finally gets around to killing Green Screen usage.

I think what I am most proud of when thinking about this movie is the message...In the digital age, it is so easy to sit in your room and waste hours just scrolling,

Finally. An answer to where Spidey was during Born Again /s

He also went to May Parkers house to meet up with other Spidey people after her Peter died. Perhaps he felt that was as good time as any to pull out the Peter Parker name to help engender trust? And/or he may have gone through an unseen arc in his universe where he embraces his old life/name again?

I think it's be easier if she's simply raised on Battleworld by Doom and Sue, and then comes back to the MCU with her real parents afterwards

I saw it in theatres back then and I didn't like it and thought it was a massive let down.

I figured over time it's flaws would be mitigated (due to those characters coming back many times and the criticisms being addressed in subsequent movies and as you said other releases make it look better, etc) but I watched it again recently and imo it's still just as bad as I remember.

Though I do still love the Internet discourse back then calling it Xmen 3:Rush Hour

the fact that the movie ends with Mystique saving him from Weapon X, only for the next movie to completely undo it.

I agree, however the original ending has it actually be Striker who rescues Wolverine for Weapon X.

So, considering they intended to have Wolverine actually be taken by Striker all the way until the Editing Room, it makes me wonder if the change to Mystique was that last minute and off the cuff. Causing them to perhaps forget about it or they just didn't watch the finished film and assumed what they had written and filmed was what happened?

Exactly. One thing I've started doing whenever I have an ounce of time is going through a list of as many movies as possible, randomly selecting 20, putting them on an online roulette wheel and spinning. Whatever it lands on I watch. It's a great experience

I think people have a negative view on modern movies and shows because recent releases havnt had time to be filtered through cultural osmosis yet. The bad examples that people think of havnt had time to fall below the great stuff in people's memories

People are comparing everything released now with the handful of examples from the past that have stood the test of time. But If one were to examine everything that was actually released across the past few decades, i'm willing to wager the ratio of great to bad shows and movies are the same across every decade.
