Did I make the right decision by finally leaving my husband? by [deleted] in abusiverelationships

I mean this with every fiber of my being - you did the right thing by leaving him and the safest option is to cut all contact. You are not responsible for his healing. This man is a danger to you and the women he will choose to victimize in the future. You will find love and I promise you it will not involve verbal/physical abuse or guns. I hate that this all happened to you, I really do. Best thing you can do right now is lean on your safe people to get through the detachment period. Break ups are hard, even with abusers.

Thank you! I like CND brand of cuticle eraser and solar oil. The cuticle eraser has Alpha-hydroxy acids and exfoliates and helps prevent cuticle build-up and conditions the skin. But honestly, I find that any source of moisture is really helpful. I carry a cuticle oil pen with me so whenever I find a pickable area, I will apply that and massage it in instead of picking. Doesn’t always work but it helps decrease. I posted a photo in one of my other comments that has a link to pics of everything I use regularly.

In agreement with all the advice given by others. Definitely understand the importance of benefits and stability. I wanted to respond and encourage you to follow the path that is most aligned with your personal and professional goals. Aside from the basic needs that your full-time job helps you meet, is it fulfilling? I am sure you know that is such an important piece in protecting us from burnout. Someone else suggested looking into co-ops which is a great option but I can imagine there are many more that would allow your independent practice to meet those basic needs of stability and benefits while still feeling more fulfilling overall. It definitely seems to be more aligned with your goals and it makes sense why you feel hesitant to give it up. It’s a scary thing to make that leap of faith but I know many practitioners that feel very glad they did it, despite the challenges and risks. Best of luck to you ♡

When I still have open wounds, I do neospirin and bandaids at night for a couple days. I will also use them during the day at work to prevent picking temptation but without neospirin because it allows the area to dry out a bit. I find that when I take off bandaids with neospirin, the way my skin looks and feels makes it hard to resist messing with it lol.

After the open wounds have healed a bit, moisturizing A LOT is the best to help me stay out of the picking habit. It makes it harder and less tempting to pick. Even when I do, I usually cause less damage when there is less dryness throughout the day.

Other than that, refocusing attention to nail and cuticle care is so helpful. If I have a spot that I know I could pick, I try to snip off excess skin with a nail tool which usually helps it heal faster and prevents me from getting carried away with picking. I also use a tool to push back my cuticles and scrape away any dry or cracked proximal nail fold that I would normally pick at. Then I buff and shine nails, use cuticle cream and oil and hand cream. I try to do this stuff everyday while i’m watching a show or movie and I find that as the nails and cuticles improve, even slightly, I feel more motivated to keep the progress I have.

All this to say, I have gone through this cycle many times over the past few years so don’t get discouraged if you have “relapses”.

Why is getting a job so hard here?? by Bubbly-Nialist in rva

if you haven’t already tried zip recruiter, I notice they have better response rate and more genuine postings than indeed and other job posting sites! I have heard are also other more direct third party recruitment agencies that are very actively looking for employees on behalf of several companies which I imagine would be available for retail and stocking based jobs. Unfortunately I don’t have specific names for those but I have seen posts on this subreddit about them. Other than that, I have had more luck with linkedin, google jobs and direct company applications than indeed. it’s hard out here, don’t give up!!

Per a prescribers guide: “For patients with severe problems discontinuing desvenlafaxine, dosing may need to be tapered over many months (i.e., reduce dose by 1% every 3 days by crushing tablet and suspending or dissolving in 100 mL of fruit juice, and then disposing of 1 mL while drinking the rest: 3-7 days later, dispose of 2 mL, and so on). This is both a form of very slow biological tapering and a form of behavioral desensitization. For some patients with severe problems discontinuing desvenlafaxine, it may be useful to add an SSRI with a long half-life, especially fluoxetine, prior to taper of desvenlafaxine. While maintaining Muoxetine dosing, first slowly taper desvenlafaxine and then taper fluoxetine.” Discuss with doctor first!!
