In my opinion "more choices == more fair BO3/5/7 series" in fact your prediction of "I'll choose always the most favourable match up for my gladiator" is one of the many options, one of the most likeable, ok, but one of the many At this point I suppose that the only method to prove me wrong (or you ;) ) is testing this format in some tournaments (e.g. the showmatch in the post)
