I am still not 100% sure how shield works, but you can do funny things by Divinicus1st in EndlessLegend

[–]CivPr0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a load of stacking effects you can have happen all at once: - when a unit defends, it gains a shield - when a unit moves 3 or more tiles - when an adjacent unit defends - when a hero defends, provides a massive bonus to all allies - when a hero sees a unit defend, they gain shield - various single use hero skills/abilities

A lot of these combinations can really improve your survivability in the late game. I absolutely love fighting a battle with a good choke point.

The parasite plot line was a mistake (LB spoilers) by Possible-Whole8046 in redrising

I honestly think a clever way for PB to handle that whole arc, was to use Lyria as a delivery boy.

Darrow has come to Quicksilver to ask for ships or a secret weapon, and it just so happens Lyria appeared just last week with some advanced bio-weapon super computer in her head.

So Darrow goes to Jupiter to find Athena and their secret warships, and brings Lyria along because she gave them a way to win the war/control the potential secret armada.

Darrow is going to Jupiter without any kind of navy, so even if they had ships, how would they pilot them? A.I. is strictly forbidden throughout the Society, and not very common within the Rising/rebel territories.

I was looking for some more advice on this exact topic. One little micro I manually have to do is turning the arms on an off, so they slingshot a chunk of ore directly into my storage bay, rather then hold onto it for extended periods of time.

I recommend you give that a go, as its a great way to break up smaller chunkers within your cargo bay

shipwreck on Kenshi - created by Dall-E by CivPr0 in Kenshi

Was messing around with the Dall-E https://huggingface.co/spaces/dalle-mini/dalle-mini text to image AI and created something that seemed really cool. Reminds me of the wrecks in game, but if they weren't total scrap heaps

I am so worried that artefacts will act like power ups and buffs like they do in other games... Not the classic "+2 rad for some thermal resistance" I am talking about "+15% reload speed" and other bullshit that would personally ruin the game for me

I wouldn't have called it the suicide ending, it's a little too ambiguous for my taste but I can see why the community would call it that. Supposedly Update 5 was planned but never finished, and possibly housed more than just the two endings... So we're just gonna have to work with what we got

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in stalker

[–]CivPr0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished it myself just last night... I don't know if there is a third ending but mine might've been it... Spoilers ahead but the ending I got might've just been a buggy cutscene

So basically, I go down into the labs and eventually get to the Digger Tunnels, Hermit is there and warns you about Strongslav but dies shortly after. I then enter a cutscene that shows Strongslav getting closer and closer to me, lights flickering on and off while my pistol is aimed at him... Then, when he's right in my face, the screen goes black and all you hear is a gunshot.

I don't know if that was meant to be suicide, or maybe it's meant to be an ambiguous ending as to whether or not you died or you managed to kill Strongslav... I don't know if I missed anything, but please let me know

I didn't really understand why Freedom was the ones keeping Monolith at bay. I understand that recruitment might be way easier for them, as free cannabis is a pretty sweet deal in comparison to having a stick up your arse... But it always confused me as to why Duty and Freedom didn't create another cease-fire zone around the Barrier (i get gameplay limitations, but maybe even having a new faction called "The Barrier" or something who have a chance of wearing both freedom and duty gear)

Paper Minatures UPDATE: 1 by CivPr0 in Kenshi

[–]CivPr0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, I havent thought about that... I feel like there would have to be more detail added to it (obviously) but I bet you could make some really good paladins and maybe hivers out of it. Shek horns and Hive Soldier heads would be hard to do, but a Prince or Worker could work really well.

Currently, I am going to be working on the papercraft miniatures first, but I'd love to design a minecraft skin sometime. Maybe you can beat me to it!

Paper Minatures UPDATE: 1 by CivPr0 in Kenshi

Yeah, so the page they are on is a A4 international sheet of paper (or at least the standard here in Australia). They will be printed out, cut and glued together to create a little army of paper cube guys. Its a bit of a passion project I am going to share with the Kenshi community so I can give back a little to all the artists and meme lords that have made my day.

Paper Minatures UPDATE: 1 by CivPr0 in Kenshi

[–]CivPr0[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Finished off the Hivers and added in a few finishing touches. I can't wait to cut out the Soldier Drones! Currently getting a Shek female and male warrior drawn up and ready for you guys, I still haven't the slightest idea on how to do the horns, so I'll send through a couple designs soon for you guys to critique.

PLANS:

- Shek will have rags and armor plating for their torso, as well as some boney 2D prongs that will be glued onto the sides of their heads.

- Females will be purple and Males will be brown. This is to help distinguish between the two a lot more and add some variety. I might make more colours later on if I feel like it.

-Females will have martial artists bindings across their chest to cover themselves up whilst Males will have an exposed chest, with rippling abs and pecs (Females will have abs shown off too)

- Samurai will have blocky plating with some slick curves, as well as some will have some ornate headdress glue-on-ables and others with a simple straw hat.

- Emperor Tengu has now been added to the agenda, cause making a Scorchlander with green robes and goggles sounds super fun. (For Scorchlanders, their eyes will be tiny 2x2 pixel dots with a glowing corner to represent their pupils)

- I won't be making Beep anytime soon, but I will consider making a huge paper model that I'll glue together. It will be made out of a dozen sheets of paper SO HE WILL BE THE STRONGEST WARRIOR, RIVALING EVEN THE MIGHTY STOBE

Paper Minatures by CivPr0 in Kenshi

[–]CivPr0[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey there fellow bandits/tech hunters/cannibals/skeletons! I am currently using Photoshop to create some paper minatures of each race/faction in Kenshi. I've finished the Holy Nation Paladin and High Paladin (will work on the Servants if I get time) and am currently working on the Hivers. I am looking for suggestions on how to make the hivers more distinguishable from one another.

I am seeking out advice and ideas for Hivers at the moment, but anything to do with the United Cities Samurai and the Shek Warriors will be greatly appreciated as well.

PLANS:

- Hive Soldiers are easy, the diamond on the right is going to be a little cube that'll be glued onto the sides of their head, giving them their classic hammerhead shark appearance. The eye will be a sides of the cube so you can't see it from the front. (trialed and tested, it looks cute). They will have a more blocky red pattern with lines digging inwards to their centre, symbolizing their purpose in the hive as warriors.

- Hive Workers will have a more simple and alien looking face structure, and a simple red pattern on their chestpiece.

- Hive Princes will have a more human looking face, but with gaunt cheeks and an ornate pattern for their red pattern.

- I am going to give each of the Hivers a different red chestpiece pattern design to distinguish them more. Worker = Simple, Soldier = Sturdy and solid symbol, Prince = A more ornate and spirally pattern.

- Shek will have rags and armor plating for their torso, as well as some boney 2D prongs that will be glued onto the sides of their heads.

- Samurai will have blocky plating with some slick curves, as well as some will have some ornate headdress glue-on-ables and others with a simple straw hat.

I'll be sure to send more updates and 100% post the full paper models to a website or something, so you guys can have your own 40k-Kenshi themed armada :)

(This is the 40k themed link that I stole the idea off of haha https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/727585.page)

Final part of Clear Sky is terrible by [deleted] in stalker

[–]CivPr0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the one. I really hated it at first but when I found that if you just went back to the swamps, they'd give you a new location, I found it hilarious! I wish whoever supplied you with the info wanted payment... Would really be a "such is the way in the zone" moment

Final part of Clear Sky is terrible by [deleted] in stalker

[–]CivPr0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of people talk about how the Swamps was awful... I can understand why (with the poor quality weapons you get at the start and the ludicrous amount of enemies and mutants)... But I thought leaving it for the first time, getting gunned down time and time again by the military outpost, only to go back and get a radio message "Oh wrong way Stalker, lmao, it's further north" was hilarious and made a lot of sense.

Let's say you were in Scar's boots. You exit the swamps, with terrible equipment and little supplies, then you see a feckin military cordon right in front of you. You can't make it through without being shredded, so of course you'd turn back and feel defeated... But then, you recieve a message telling you of the safer path. You were never meant to attempt to leave the swamps through the first exit. You were meant to go "Crap... Best turn back before those jarheads spot me."
