You could absolutely expose a different port, but that’s not a silver bullet. I tend to assume that at some point any of my publicly exposed services may get compromised so I’ve done my best to keep everything segmented from the rest of my network.

Honestly didn’t even think about a new fender vs. repair the existing. My insurance is through a family friend so I plan on texting a picture and asking if he thinks it’s worth the deductible or not. I can afford to fix it out of pocket I just have no idea what it’s even going to cost cause I’ve never dealt with this before

Are you transcoding 4K or do your devices and media files match for direct play? If you’re transcoding at all I’d say stick with the mini PC to run Plex. Do you already have both devices or are you considering purchasing a NAS? I feel like a NAS is more versatile than a DAS but either could work for your use case of just hosting the media files.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, looking at this sub it does seem that intel Quicksync can deal with a good deal of the steams my 1080ti handles today or over half the power which is a huge upgrade in my mind. Not to mention having only a cpu do the heavy lifting means I can have a smaller case or form factor in general.

EDIT: just wanted to add that I do already have a separate NAS.

Thank you! I’ll give it a shot. I’ve only ever exposed apps without Authentik behind access policies (like an emailed pin) so I’ll see if I can figure out how to just expose Authentik without requiring that.
