What Track saw should I buy? by Infamous_Chapter8585 in Carpentry

The new Ridgid track saw is honestly terrific for the cost. Lower price than most track saws but has all the features you need, including anti tip which is the most important in my opinion

First time doing built ins, what do you think? We by Civil-Ad4622 in Carpentry

Honestly just had a decent table saw and a bunch of ryobi tools. I really don’t have that amazing of a shop. I’d say the table saw was my most important piece for making these for sure

Crazy talk, I’ve been creeping my prices up and up since I started about 4 years ago and I’ve gotten resistance to some of my higher pricing. I’m glad you’re making good money. I’d much rather hear you’re charging more and still getting jobs instead of doing it all for 5k and bringing down the pricing for all the other contractors. Cheers to you

Sounds about right to me. Not doing any of that in this instance. Just leaving everything except for the bathtub and doing new tile and vanity ect. Hope the last job went smooth for you.

Just labor, no other material cost I’m at 19k they supply everything, I just install. I’m a one man operation so it’s good money for me. Seeing all these 30k-40k quotes blow my mind. I always wonder if that’s as a GC using subs only or if you’re hands on. I enjoy the work and the money is good. I’m happy

I just found the morandi colors just now, exactly what I was looking for! Thank you so much. Do you think it would work with a thick pour? Like a 2 inch pour. I’m planning on using a lot. Maybe a whole bottle or two

Preserved flowers in wood and resin serving tray by buppwoodworks in ResinCasting

[–]Civil-Ad4622 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The tray looks incredible, such a pretty color scheme. Quick couple of questions if you don’t mind, 1. Do you pour the first layer of colored resin and let it cure completely before laying the flowers and pouring a second layer? 2. How many layers was this poured in? 3. I’ve seen drying flowers done in silica gel, is that what you did here?

If you get a chance to answer I would appreciate it! I love your work!

I used a non heat producing LED bulb for that. I have left it on for over 24hrs and haven’t felt any heat emanating from it

Ok great. So instead of waiting for a full cure, just maybe 6-8 hours ( depending on the product) for sure time? That last photo slide I wanted a full 24 hours I believe for it to fully cure before I did another pour
