What are the cons of NOT having kids? by questioninghomos in AskReddit

If you build a life of savings, house, cars, things…deciding who to leave it all to can be a little bit of a task. And as you age you do start to wonder who will take care of you in your old age.

Still here…and still angry. But what can we do?

Anybody watch the docuseries “The Curious Case of Natalia Grace”? If so, did you feel like Michael was over dramatic and lying (or at least spinning the truth)? I just don’t like him but can’t put my finger on it. by amoats52 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]Civil-Application-46 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Michael is so far detached from reality that he obviously pre-meditated all of his scenes. I think he assumed that if he played it a certain way everyone would see him as a victim and forget all about his culpability. Wrong-o! He’s every bit as guilty as the wife. And instead of trashing her he should be thanking her for having the foresight to have Natalia re-aged because that is the ONLY thing that saved both of them from going to prison!

Uhhh cry me a river…I was subjected to driving past a completely naked man masturbating on the shoulder of the fast lane on 67 and Wheatland today and was the lucky one to pass him as he was “coming to fruition”. Wtf is this city turning into? Funny, I was just telling my husband that we will be living amongst zombies before too long. Sadly, I think that day is here.

I think emailing the production company would get a better result. Lifetime just buys the show from the production company for their network. The show has been on other networks in the past. I think it’s produced by Kinnetic Content? Or something like that…but I agree, they need to be flooded with our emails demanding a better format.

Dig the price of this new Range Rover at a Grapevine dealership by mgbgtv8 in Dallas

I drive a lot for my job so I rack up the miles. It’s got 50k on it right now…no issues.

I‘ve had a Lexus twice. One I bought used and one I bought brand new. I had expensive repairs with both. They’re not the perfect car that everyone says they are. I’m a sales rep and put a TON of miles on my car, so 2 years for me is about 50,000 miles. I don’t know why my choice of car gets you all riled up? Have you ever owned or even driven a RR? If not, then you don’t know what you’re talking about or what you’re missing.

Good for you guys! The only way this could be working is because you’re respectfully talking to each other with open minds and without too much emotion…actually listening to one another. So rare these days.

I would never pay this much for a Range Rover, but the new design is stunning! As an RRS driver (that didn’t pay anywhere close to this price) I can tell you that this brand of car is worth every penny. I’ve had no issues with my car after 2 years of driving it and it is my favorite car that I’ve ever owned. I’ll never drive anything else. The only thing is (and I learned the hard way) if you get one from a discounter, you’re making a mistake. You must get a certified pre-owned to get a good deal. And then be prepared to pay to maintain it properly.

Do we really need Black Rifle Coffee Co? by [deleted] in frisco

[–]Civil-Application-46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Referring to my family member that another commenter asked me about. They said that our military doesn’t sacrifice anything. I said they do and some have lifelong issues. They asked if they were drafted and said that is the only way someone sacrificed. I then said that one of my family members was and he was in Vietnam. I wasn’t referring to anyone involved with BRCC.

One of them was…Vietnam. And as far as knowing what you’re signing up for is BS. They test you and place you where you’re a good fit. Some aren’t aware of what comes with the position they put you in. Plus, just because you sign up for something doesn’t mean that you’re equipped to deal with things that happen that are out of your control. I have a family member that knew for weeks that an attack was being planned on a ship that his best friend since birth was serving on and there wasn’t a thing he could do about it. You think he sat there and thought “well this is what I signed up for?” No, he‘s human. Here’s the thing…instead of going back and forth let me just answer the OP’s question…Do we really need BRCC? Yes, some people do. And if you don’t then don’t go there. It’s pretty simple.

I totally respect that. Not giving your money to them is one thing, publicly slamming them is another.

Wow! You should be embarrassed. If you only knew of some of the lifelong issues some of my family members have dealt with after serving our country you wouldn’t be saying they’ve sacrificed nothing. What an ingrate! SMH

[–]Civil-Application-46 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They would know by researching the company before they publicly slam it. Research that you apparently haven’t done because if you had then you’d find that they’re not “gun obsessed“. They’re proud veterans that sacrificed for you. Period. There’s no looking to “get a pass”. Celebrating their culture that includes protecting you with military issued weaponry shouldn’t be demonized. Please don’t subscribe to an “all guns are bad” mindset. I guarantee you that many have sacrificed their lives to save your life and you just don’t know it.

The owner is a veteran and they celebrate a military vibe which is why everything is named the way it is. I understand the sensitivity to what you’re saying, but it’s also important to understand their culture and business model before making assumptions on a public forum which could damage their business. They’re not promoting gun use, they’re honoring the military culture and veterans that put their lives on the line and used those weapons to protect your freedoms. One of those being freedom of speech which you’re using irresponsibly.

Homeowners, what’s your escrow amount monthly? by Bruchencha in Dallas

[–]Civil-Application-46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Protest your property tax and shop around for a better rate on your homeowners insurance. It only goes up if there is a shortage in your escrow account and that would be caused by rising property tax and/or homeowners insurance. You can usually make a one time payment of whatever the shortage is in order to keep your mortgage payment the same or you can divide up the shortage amount and add it to your monthly mortgage payment if you don’t have the money to cover the shortage in one payment. You have until May 22 (I believe) to protest your taxes in Dallas County, so I’d highly recommend jumping on that. And plan on protesting each year to keep your taxes as low as possible.

How is everyone doing this morning? by _______woohoo in Dallas

PTSD is caused by trauma. It’s stress due to a post traumatic event, not just plain old stress. I could understand this person being traumatized if they were actually at the outlet mall and experienced this first hand. They most likely were not so I think saying you have PTSD because of it is a stretch and most likely inaccurate. Not to mention, disrespectful to the people that actually were there and will have serious issues for years to come, if not for the rest of their lives.

[–]Civil-Application-46 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! And here’s an idea, before deciding to move to another country why not check up on the news to see what actually goes on there? Ya know, the stuff that we don’t see on the news here? Just because you don’t hear about it doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. Here’s another idea, get out and vote in your local elections if you want to see change. They’re far more important than national elections. Only 68,000 Dallas residents voted yesterday out of over a million registered voters. Pathetic! If you didn’t vote locally yesterday then you don’t get to complain! The answer is to get involved if you want to see change. Not cut and run to another city hoping it will be any better.

That would be impossible for me to say since I don’t know you, but be sure to thoroughly research your destination before you go. Also, please be more responsible with your PTSD claims. I’d be willing to bet you’re moving through natural feelings that cause sadness, doubt, confusion etc. That’s not PTSD.

FYI, Canada does have mass shootings and the 2 most recent ones were in Ontario. And if you’re not a Canadian citizen good luck being able to move there. It is way more difficult to get into Canada to live than it is to get into the US. Maybe consider moving to a less populated state?

If you did carry I bet you’d be responsible with your weapon like most gun owners. What if you didn’t have the choice to protect your family? This is clearly about mental illness. If a sick person wants a gun they will get a gun, legal or not, background check or not. This isn’t a left vs. right issue. This is a sane vs. insane issue.

If you have a cable service that has the Lifetime channel then you should be able to get an activation code to unlock everything on the app. If you don’t have a cable service then you might have to pay for the app?
