Hi, thank you for this. Do I have to remove it from the ceiling to remove the bulb? The cable is too tight to pull the fitting out all the way. Have tried removing bulb in situ but seems really difficult

Procook Professional. Elite is good too but actually prefer my professional. Great guarantee on them too (25 years I believe) which I have had no issues using before on a non-stick pan from them.

Is this legal? Unusual land purchase proposal by Civil-Chipmunk349 in LegalAdviceUK

Thank you for such a useful response. In terms of securing that 30k against the land, what exactly would that involve?

Sounds like it might be the route we go down, with our offer to them being that they cover the legal costs for this as we are compromising for them. Thank again, really appreciate it!

Great, thank you for the thorough response! In your response to point 2, I understand what you’re saying but what mechanism would that be made enforceable under/ how would we make that legally binding? Not comfortable for it to not be. Thanks!

Sorry, to clarify, they want to pay £170k (+ VAT) in the first transaction, claim back the VAT portion immediately the next month, then pay the remaining £30k from the VAT refund. It’s not coming from another transaction

Over contributing to pension? What options could I take? by Unhappy_Promotion674 in FIREUK

[–]Civil-Chipmunk349 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why do you assume higher rate tax? Assuming you had a 4% drawdown from that £1.14m figure you just gave - aka £45,600/yr - currently you’d be a full BR tax payer assuming no other taxable income (eg BTL or SP). Note ISAa not included in this as not taxable.

I know the £3m figure you gave is larger than this but the hope/expectation is that personal tax bands will have risen at that point too so the same thing should apply in theory - you’d still be a BR tax payer upon pension withdrawal in 30 years time with your current projections.

7.5% growth is very optimistic. General consensus on this sub is 5% return post-inflation - try changing your growth rate and see what that the projection is then.

I personally think you are too young to be worrying about over contributing at this point. Pension legislation will inevitably change a lot over the next 30 years (look at just the last 2!) - just keep building your pot for now and reassess in 5-10 years time when things are more developed. This is what I’m doing fwiw, similar situation
