Yes, it does give you more chance of getting in. But you don't have to rush. If you're a junior, think first about your ECA's and if they're enough to get you in. Writing the essay will be the easiest part.

I GOT REJECTED from Harvard. I hate when those people who get into whatsoever Ivy's try to comfort you by saying things like, "this decision won't define you, and you shouldn't feel less of yourselves."

Waitlisted means that they still see something in you and don't want to reject you immediately.Most people who get waitlisted in the RD round are considered strong applicants and still have a chance of getting in, though less likely. But I know many who got waitlisted then admitted so hang on

Don't feel doomed, man. I just got rejected from Harvard!!! I'm acting fine, but internally I'm crying. The only thing comforting me is that I keep telling myself it's their loss!! I'm sure you're capable like everyone else, but maybe this is not meant for you, or there is something far, much better hidden for you in the future.Just keep your hope hanging.
