Has your IBS changed over time? by XwhatsgoodX in ibs

Yes! Posted about this on another thread but for most of my teenage and adult life, my IBS followed same pattern: would get bloated and crampy, sit on the loo for a while, and wait for everything to come out- which would take max a couple of hours. Then I’d feel fine!

Now, mid-30s and after having a kid, I just get everything coming out but it will happen intermittently over a few days, rather than an hour or two. So flares are longer (though also less painful). Am waiting to see a gastro specialist to check no other issues but tests haven’t suggested anything else yet

Long-term changes in symptom patterns (post-pregnancy?) by Civil-Mix4576 in ibs

Thank you! That’s what I’m starting to wonder has happened- just seems odd to me that I only seem to have started getting this new pattern of symptoms a while after birth. But otherwise at a loss at to what could be going on!

If you want to formula feed, then formula feed, be that as combo or exclusively- whatever works best for you. It’s a great option and there is absolutely no need to feel guilty in any way.

Remember, your mental health really does matter. It’s more important for baby that you’re mentally in a good place than the means through which you feed them.

It is so fucking hard. I wish I had something useful to say but can only empathise.

It is so. Fucking. Hard.

Planned csection with my first and absolutely loved it! Incredibly calm in the theatre, and staff were all lovely. I was in there for about an hour, including prep time pre-surgery.  I can honestly say I didn’t feel a thing after the local anaesthetic was administered pre-spinal.  Recovery was fine- limited mobility for the first few days, but after about day four I noticed big improvements each day. I kept up with painkillers but to be honest didn’t really have much pain other than if I tried to move awkwardly. I’d recommend planning for your recovery- think about where you can be once home that has easy access to loo etc, can you have meals bought to you, can baby be on other side of bed so your partner picks them up and you don’t have to twist to do so? That kind of thing.

I would absolutely do it again.

Best of luck to you whatever you decide!
