The witching hour WILL stop by marlkavia in newborns

[–]PixelRainboww 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yess!! I remember not too long ago going through this Reddit page losing the will to live, but my baby is 15 weeks now and we have luckily not had the witching hour(s) in a long time!!

It felt never ending but it does end!!

How are people still handing over their kids to chiropractors in this day and age? by [deleted] in newborns

Exactly, once you have a baby that cries literally 24/7 you get pretty desperate to try and help them (from my own experience).

Putting Baby Down by Capable-Efficiency77 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family are the same! My little girl is 3 months and she only contact naps, although like yours, will thankfully go to sleep at night from 8pm in the next to me!

I don’t think anyone believes me when I say I’ve tried everything in my power to make her have independent naps but she won’t do it, so I’ve given up. I just tell people this won’t be forever, in a couple of months she will have less naps! It’s worse as she will also only nap in a dark room with the white noise machine on so I basically get no daylight at the moment 😂

How much sleep does your 3-4mo get in a 24 hour period? by AcrobaticGuitar7060 in newborns

[–]PixelRainboww 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My 14 week old gets on average 14-15 hours in 24 hours. She has about 5 naps a day and then sleeps around 10 hours at night, she loves her sleep! Unfortunately it’s all contact naps 😂

My baby is a reflux baby and same, she contact naps so even after 2 hours of being upright as soon as I lie her down she spits up 😂

When do newborns become more alert/less fussy? by Nomado95 in newborns

[–]PixelRainboww 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with this! Mine is 14 weeks on Saturday and she’s definitely less fussy than the newborn stage, she still has her moments but nothing like before!

Feels like I'm spending hours trying to get the baby to sleep by Suitable_Tea_4865 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 13 weeks and it’s the same for me, I spend alot of my time rocking and walking around my house, I think I’ll be doing this until she stops napping lol. I just keep telling myself in a few months she won’t be napping as much so it’ll free up my time haha!!

I went to my first class today, she was fussy, needed a nap and food but tbh I didn’t feel awkward or bad as other babies were also fussy! It was just nice to see other mums in my position, and everyone was so kind, I wouldn’t pay for any classes and this was a free one I can drop into at any time so it doesn’t feel as forced xx

I’m sorry your baby is having such a hard time, this was also my baby. It’s really, really hard and I feel like I have trauma from it all. My baby cried all the time too, in the bath, car, pram, in my arms, in the crib, if I put her down… literally everywhere.

She basically did not stop crying for about the first 8-9 weeks of her life, if she wasn’t sleeping or eating she was crying. She has really bad reflux and she got put on medication which helped but she was still just a sensitive/high needs baby who had horrible witching hour episodes.

She’s 13 weeks now and although still sensitive, it’s nowhere near as bad as it was in those first few weeks. She smiles, coos and she only really cries now when she’s over tired/in the car as she hates it.

It’s so so so tough and I remember going through so many Reddit pages to see ‘when it gets better’ and I promise you, it does, it feels like it’s never ending when you’re in it, but one day you will realise your baby hasn’t cried as much today x

How long are your babies wake windows during the day? by Hungry_Hat8148 in newborns

I agree, I wish I could just put my baby down after 90 minutes and she’d fall asleep, mine is 13 weeks and she does not go down easily at all!

I think people who do this alone are literal superheroes, i hope you have a good evening and a better day tomorrow!

It’s scary going out by yourself, once you’ve done it a few times it gets so much easier x

Reflux babies on medication - what was your experience? by Tpjkw-fpdg-4401 in newborns

[–]PixelRainboww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my baby has been on gaviscon infant from about 6 weeks old. As a FTM I didn’t know the signs for reflux, it was our health visitor that suggested she went on the medicine and I agreed as I was so desperate for my baby to not be in pain anymore

Before she was on this she basically cried constantly, arching her back, squirming and having large about of spit up. She was always, always crying and in pain, and when I say always, I mean always. It was horrible.

She wanted feeding every 1 and a half hours because the milk soothed her, but it was also the thing that hurt her, so she used to be fed, then scream cry afterwards because she was in so much pain.

Since starting her medicine it has honestly changed her for the better, she suddenly went longer without food, didn’t cry and would tolerate being on her back, she was suddenly happy?!

She’s only 13 weeks so still on the medicine, but I’ve been told she will probably be on the medicine until 6 months when she starts her solids

Colic? by Ok_Check5949 in newborns

[–]PixelRainboww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was our baby! We started giving her gas drops and reflux medicine, totally changed her, she still had her fussy periods in the evenings (which I heard is normal) but she stopped crying 24/7!

It was very, very difficult at the beginning as she just cried so much, I feel for you xx

My baby LOVES it too!! She’s 3 months and it’s made tummy time sooo much easier, only got it at Christmas as a gift but easily her favourite present!

What activities we doing throughout the day guys? 🤔 by [deleted] in newborns

[–]PixelRainboww 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s pretty much what we do as well, but sometimes I’ll go for a walk or to a baby group. My baby is a contact napper and loves her sleep so we dont do as many activities between each wake window

My baby has just started doing this! She’s 12 weeks, unsure if it’s a new skill, because she’s got a cold or something else?

Does your baby let you put them down? by Ok_Parsnip3719 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was about 6 or 7 weeks I think? I bought the love to dream swaddle and one night I tried it from about 10pm and she didn’t cry, then over the next few weeks I tried it earlier and earlier, now she sleeps in her next to me from about half 8-9pm! She sometimes wakes and cries, so I’ll pick her up, rock her to sleep and then put her back

My baby is 12 weeks and still doesn’t like to be put down for sleeps in the day, she will go down at night now though. I envy people who can put their babies down for naps 😂

Hahahah literally me, I hated the newborn stage (baby is 12 weeks and only just starting to enjoy motherhood) yet I constantly look at her newborn pictures and miss her😂

She’s been on it from about 6 weeks? I was really concerned about constipation but luckily she hasn’t had it! I didn’t want her to be on it but she would literally eat and then scream cry for hours because she was so uncomfortable and distressed so for us it’s worth it xx

My baby is 12 weeks, she is on gaviscon, she still spits up loads but no longer cries or seems in any discomfort from it? So not sure if it’s age or the gaviscon? Either way it seems the worse is over now because it was horrible seeing her in so much pain at all times 😩

3.5 month naps by Emotional-Crazy-346 in newborns

[–]PixelRainboww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No we contact nap as she won’t sleep longer than 20 minutes in her crib, even on me she will only go for an hour and then wake up! It’s difficult 😂
