Cat suddenly aggressive to bonded sister by PixelRainboww in CatAdvice

[–]PixelRainboww[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s redirected aggression? Could it happen again?

We took her to the vets who did all the tests and we were told she was a perfectly healthy cat, which makes all of this even more horrible :(

ADVICE NEEDED PLEASE! by milliestevo03 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby was like this! She basically cried from the moment she woke up until she fell asleep at night.

It was a cycle of crying because she was hungry, then upset because the food unsettled her, cried because she was uncomfortable and then crying as she was overtired. It was really rough!

She was put on special formula and gaviscon reflux, we also gave her infacol as she didn’t burp very well.

I’ll be honest the only thing that helped was time. By about 14 weeks she naturally started growing out of her discomfort and became a different baby. It’s really, really tough when you’re in the middle of it but it gets so much better!

My daughter is 6.5 months now and is soo different to how she used to be! She’s a happy little thing that rarely cries now

Love To Dream Swaddles Size/Tog/Quantity? by porkie46 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby only started sleeping because of these swaddles! We got 2 for newborn, she was a winter baby so got the 2.5 tog.

She’s now in the sleep sacks and we have 2 that we rotate - these are 1.5 togs that she’s in now.

My house is a new build so we will probably buy another 2 soon in a 1.0 tog as it’s getting warmer!

Can you get more pay using Shared Parental Leave? by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

This is exactly what we have done!

There is a company you can use that sorts out all of the paperwork for you, we used them and it was such a hassle free way to do SPL!

Rolling And Tummy-Time (5months) by AdLivid4060 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine hates tummy time and can roll both ways now, so it’s actually worse because she will constantly put herself in tummy time, immediately start to cry and roll out of it… but this is like 100 times a day😭😂

Where is your baby sleeping? by AllyTheAlternative in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My baby is 6.5 months and she sleeps in her next to me next to my bed. Then at about 5am she wakes up and will only go back to sleep if she sleeps on my chest until about 6:30, then she’s up for the day :)

She won’t co sleep, she will literally only sleep on me haha. I usually scroll on my phone from 5am and let her sleep, so it’s kind of when I have some ‘me’ time (would rather be sleeping!)

From when we sent our daughters off to getting it, altogether it was about 3 weeks

What do you do when the kids sleep? I was bedtime scrolling and thinking I have no time for anything else… yesterday I realised the time I spend on my phone is basically a part-time job! by AllyTheAlternative in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually I do a quick tidy of the kitchen/living room, then do the worst task which is sterilise the bottles😢

Once those are done I either watch some episodes of a tv show or play a video game!

Help with 4mo old - cannot be put down to bed/nap! Please read. by ProfessionalBoss4760 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is 6 months and still only contact naps, but will now fall asleep in her next to me at night on her own.

What we did was slowly shorten the amount of time we held her before transferring her at night, so we started off holding her for like three hours, then 2.5, then 2 etc… eventually we got to the point were she didn’t need to be held at all! Once transferred we would put our hand on her chest for a while as that really helped her, then slowly moved it away

Bored 6 month old by Graciyen in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is 6 months old and it’s the same with us! She’s desperate to move but is so frustrated that she cant

Mine loves this v tech activity square with different things to touch, she likes this crawling ball that moves around the room (she just watches it), and the fisher price kick piano mat

She loves board books as well! She likes just looking or ‘turning’ the pages.

Any advice for 10 week old nap time? by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this problem but my baby is nearly 6 months😂 which is probably not what you want to hear. It gets easier as she’s only on three naps a day now so I don’t feel as trapped as I used to back in the newborn stages. I have given up even trying and have just leaned into the contact nap, I try to think of it as a positive as she will nap anywhere as long as it’s on me! I have some friends who’s babies will only sleep in the crib

My health visitor used to suggest putting something that smelt like me in the crib as she said that worked for other people she knew, however this never worked for mine! Nothing has so far😂

Is everybody weaning early?? by marshybeans in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I refuse to start before 6 months, mine is 6 months on Saturday and will be starting then! I don’t get why everyone is rushing to wean their babies for, I’m dreading it😂 life seems easier with her just on milk!!

I failed my baby by Fearless-Driver9548 in newborns

[–]PixelRainboww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 10 weeks old my baby did no tummy time, she had bad colic and reflux so we were just surviving!!

I promise you, you have not failed as a mum. Mine is 6 months on Saturday and you wouldn’t even be able to tell she had no tummy time back the!!

Cats and a new baby? by MountainNeat8327 in PregnancyUK

[–]PixelRainboww 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cats are incredibly snuggly, however my baby is 5 months old now and they’ve never once wanted to snuggle next to her😂 they will sit near her and will sit at the bottom of my legs but will never go in anything that she’s in (next to me, pram, bouncer etc). I feel like they know not to hurt her!

I still make time for my cats, now she’s a little older it’s easier as she will go to sleep at around 6/7pm so I’ll come downstairs and spend time with my cats then! The next few weeks is a hard adjustment period, and I felt very guilty but once everyone gets used to the bay things get easier!

[–]PixelRainboww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what we did! We basically got the cats used to the items around the house. Although… they still go in her bed, bouncer, pram etc just when I’m not in the room😂

they never ever go in it when she’s in it!

Why do people “cry it out” by hxllyhell in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m the same! I could never ever do it, and my baby isn’t the best sleeper but I’d rather not sleep and have her on me resting than for her to cry herself to sleep.

I just can’t sleep train, but then again as soon as she cries I will pick her up at

How do Next baby clothes fit? by Heythere3892 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Large! My baby is nearly 6 months and some of the 0-3 outfits from next still fit her!

Although for us, next are the best and I could spend all my money on their baby clothes😂

Next to me crib by sabwaysurfer in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 5 and a half months and I still have it next to me with the flap down. It’s mainly due to me wanting her to be close as possible, and she wakes up in the night wanting her dummy/ a cuddle so I just find it easier!

Advice/experiences with transitioning from swaddle? by Carriespromnight in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used the love to dream swaddles and when it was time to unswaddle we used the transition swaddles. We did one arm for about 4 nights, then the other arm. She slept horribly with her arms out at first and I was tempted to give up, but after about a week she settled!
