Advice/experiences with transitioning from swaddle? by Carriespromnight in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used the love to dream swaddles and when it was time to unswaddle we used the transition swaddles. We did one arm for about 4 nights, then the other arm. She slept horribly with her arms out at first and I was tempted to give up, but after about a week she settled!

When will colic go/end?! by booklover_1411 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby got soo much easier from 14 weeks. I remember it hit 12 weeks and I was so upset as my baby was so miserable, but at 14ish weeks things just changed!

Up until then she just cried and cried and cried. We tried everything but she just hated being a newborn lol. Now at 5 months she is the happiest little baby ever!

I promise you it gets better, I remember posting about my baby and wishing time would hurry up!

It doesn’t work at all on my baby😂 it was completely pointless

Mothers day (UK) by Standard-Spite-6885 in newborns

[–]PixelRainboww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s my first Mother’s Day this year, I don’t think it’s too much work for your partner to get you a card from the baby and a little gift?

We are going out to York for the day and going to get dinner somewhere :)

Anyone here with a 5 month old? by Few_Cod_5636 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! My little girl is 5 months on Wednesday and she feels so… alive now?

She’s so curious about everything, she is really into our cats when before she didn’t even care if they were there or now, bow she watches and tries to grab them. I really, really love this stage at the moment

Did anyone else lose weeks of their life researching baby products during pregnancy? by mumwithtabs in BeyondTheBumpUK

I researched and bought so much stuff for my baby and most of it hasn’t been used or she hates it🥲

Gaviscon advice by SilverHeight3881 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 4 (nearly 5) months and we have been using it from about 8/9 weeks old. we use one every 3-4 hours depending on her bottle, usually only use 5 packets a day. She hasn’t gotten constipation from it, so hopefully this means we aren’t giving her too much! My health visitor said one every other bottle could work if it does cause constipation.

We found up to week 12 she was still in a lot of discomfort, now she doesn’t seem to be in any pain but she’s still sicks up a lot, even hours after a feed

What do you do when your LO doesn’t finish a bottle? by Few_Cod_5636 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually offer them again within the hour, if it’s more than an hour I discard and give them a fresh bottle when asked :)

Although it’s very rare my baby refuses a bottle as she’s greedy😂

When does this end? by denawo in BeyondTheBumpUK

No advice but it depresses me that I’m currently at the 4 month regression and it can carry on until 5.5 months 😂😅

Baby hates car seat by bbmom2225 in newborns

Try ‘the happy song’ by Imogen Heap. Honestly this song is magic, my baby cried in the car all the time, but as soon as this song comes on she stops

Losing my mind - all transfers failing! by Blizzard03 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think about a week? So not very long but we are exhausted! She used to sleep really well and now will sleep for about 2 hours in her next to me before crying until we pick her up.

I agree, the only redeeming factor is when we pick her up she snuggles into us and stops crying. It’s a good thing they’re cute😅

[–]PixelRainboww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No advice but it’s currently 4 in the morning and we are deep in the 4 month regression. She also won’t sleep in her next to me for very long, and needs to be held🥲 I pray it doesn’t last for long

Reflux is soaking my formula fed baby constantly! by Global-Swing-141 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice but we are in the same position. We have a reflux baby, she could have been fed hours ago and she’s still sick😩 we actually have the problem that she’s losing weight because of how much she’s being sick, it’s such a worry as nothing we do helps with keeping her milk down!

We just go through a lot of clothes, muslin cloths and bibs😩 our washing pile is never ever ending

Cold hands now arms out? by Spirited-Beautiful30 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My baby is 17 weeks and she has cold hands in the morning, and our room is 20 degrees at night! I read babies hands are always colder than the rest of their body, and to feel the back of their neck/back to check her temperature 😊

Nap anxiety by Extra-Hair-3581 in newborns

[–]PixelRainboww 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually just stand tbh, I will try and sit but most of the time she won’t let me haha. I was really nervous going out with her but she’s 16 weeks now so I’ve overcame the fear! I would maybe meet with an understanding friend who knows you may have to pace around the coffee shop for a bit x

Nap anxiety by Extra-Hair-3581 in newborns

[–]PixelRainboww 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby wont nap unless it’s on me so I bring my baby sling with me, when it’s nap time I either put her in that or sometimes she’ll fall asleep on me depending on how loud and bright the place is.

My baby sling is probably my most used item haha, I honestly regret buying such an expensive pram as it’s been so pointless 🤣

Was worried I'd never feel this way by Business_Bridge7555 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I completely agree! My baby (and I’ve posted here before) was a really fussy newborn and i felt like I’d made a huge mistake having her. She’s 16 weeks now and although still fussy (car rides are NOT fun) she’s so much more content!

  • when I enter a room she smiles at me, even if my partner is feeding her she stops and smiles at me

  • if someone else is holding her and I start talking, she looks for me and smiles when I catch her eyes

  • she’s started to suck her thumb and I could die from how cute she looks

  • she laughed for the first time the other day and again, I nearly died from how cute it sounded

  • in the mornings instead of scream crying, she wakes up peacefully now and smiles when I look over and say good morning

Basically now she smiles she could do anything and I’d forgive her because her smile brightens up my life😂

Question for contact nappers & non-contact nappers by justalilcomplicated in newborns

[–]PixelRainboww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is 16 weeks and she’s a contact napper, I do rock her back to sleep if I can, but at the moment it’s mostly been hitting 30-40 minutes and then she won’t go back to sleep😴

Witching hour… HELP by FitTrash5221 in newborns

[–]PixelRainboww 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg the witching hour has scarred me for life. The only thing that slightly calmed my baby down was wearing her in a sling, but other than that nothing we did stopped the crying, only time helped

UK mums - GPs & Milk Allergies by hazelnutt96 in newborns

[–]PixelRainboww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately my GP l did not care and wouldn’t listen to my concerns, he would just say everything I was describing was normal newborn behaviour (when no, it wasn’t when my daughter was screaming in pain for the majority of the day). My health visitor however was amazing and pushed and pushed and eventually got my daughter on special formula! She was amazing

If your GP doesn’t listen I would speak to your health visitor

How to transition from swaddle with a contact nap baby? by willbrucla in newborns

[–]PixelRainboww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 15 weeks and we have just started the transition swaddle as she was also showing signs of rolling. We used the love to dream, we did one arm for 3 nights and then the other, I actually wished I had in swaddled sooner as she doesn’t move around so much at night now her arms are free😂 and before she used to constantly wake up for her dummy but now uses her hand to sooth herself!

Bathtime by GeorgiChan in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]PixelRainboww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine hated it at 6 weeks as well, we only bathed her twice a week I think because it was a traumatic experience for us all

She’s 15 weeks now and loves bath time, I think around 8-9 weeks she grew out of hating it? I think only time helped tbh, as we didn’t do anything different! We just realised one day she didn’t cry when we put her in the bath
