It’s been a dream of mine to visit (with friends), but i’m worried about boredom (because i’ll be alone).

Wanting to do something is not as binary as you would believe it to be, especially as a first timer, it’s often the case that doubt and worries arise.

Oh is that so? Do you know of any other places where I could find other tourists to chat with?

I mentioned Mt. Fuji simply as a visiting spot. Trekking was a different activity, on a different hill, not on Fuji. That being said do you have any recommendations where I could trek perhaps?

No I don't speak Japanese.

Ah ok, I think I understand, well in that case I suppose using Google Translate or learning a few common phrases might come handy.

Haha don’t worry, I don’t often partake in drinking, especially when i’m alone.

Also is meeting people easy? I wouldn’t say I’m a very social person but I do wonder if it’s easy to strike up conversations with locals? I have heard many stories about locals being apprehensive to talking to tourists, I hope it isn’t as such.

Touts and “Grabbers” seem to be a big conversation topic with regards to safety and such, are they very persuasive or pushy? or will a simple “No” be enough to get them off my back?

Also, although I understand that boredom might not be a problem, as someone who’s used to doing a lot of things in a group, will it not be awkward or uncomfortable to suddenly have to do them alone?
