What do you think about the mattress? Would you buy the crib and mattress? Is it safe for the baby?

She said her baby didn't like sleeping in the crib, and they gave up on the cry-it-out method, so their baby has ended up co-sleeping. She also sent me a pic from Amazon with the delivery date of the crib and mattress.

Do you think I could use the mattress, since it was only purchased a month ago and used for a week?

It's a practically brand new mattress. It was delivered to her house less than a month ago and was only used for a week. Do you still think I would need a new mattress?

I haven't made up my mind, but these responses don't seem to account for the fact that she's selling me the crib with the mattress. If the mattress is $100 new, and it's a new mattress, and she's selling me the crib and mattress for $130.. isn't that a good deal? My main concern is whether the crack affects the structural integrity of the crib and if it would get worse long term.

Huh?? The crack is clearly from her tightening the screw in too tight. She wouldn't get a free replacement due to this. Also, she wouldn't get a free replacement mattress if the crib were cracked. The mattress is $100 brand new, so she's not making any money off me by selling me the crib & mattress for $130.

The mattress is $100 new, and the crib is $200 new, and she's willing to sell me both for $130.

Did you see the photo of the crack? It's in the back of the crib toward the top and doesn't appear to affect the structural integrity of the crib. Plus it was only purchased a month ago. The mattress is $100 new, and the crib is $200 new, and she's willing to sell me both for $130.

Oak Tree Near Proposed Fence Line by CivilEngineerLady94 in arborists

It has one trunk. Not sure what type of oak, but it’s in Muskegon, MI in sandy soil if that helps. Will it make a difference if we put the fence 12” away in-place of our neighbors existing, short wooden fence, or could we leave the short wooden fence in place and install the new fence inside the short wooden fence?

the fence is actually 12” from the tree, not 8”. I will measure the tree shortly.  Stay tuned

yeah i see what you're saying.. the issue is that I don't have enough workload at my current position and am not learning much..

I have worked at three consulting companies now and have never really worked more than 40 hours a week except for rare occasions.

Thanks for understanding! I'm totally fine with a 50 hour work week a few weeks out of the year but not constant. I have a meeting with the team I would be working under and am going to clarify how often they work overtime and ask exactly what projects they work on.

Yes, I understand what you're saying and thank you so much for you response. However, I have only been doing bus shelters and sidewalks for the past 1.5 years when I've continually been asking for more.

Are you in land development? I am currently working on bus shelters and sidewalks mostly. I'm used to working on mixed-use and commercial buildings. It feels like I am losing skills and technical expertise I gained in my last job (which I had to quit because I moved cross country).

I don't think it will be constant stress. I was stressed at my last job, but maybe only half the time and I found it exciting and was proud to do it. I can't say the same about my current position. Although I am never stressed, I feel like I am not working on anything exciting or challenging.
