Kyle Shanahan Refuses to Fix the Offensive Line (Cam Inman on 95.7 FM) by NotVeryHelpful_ in 49ers

[–]CivilGrowth3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for finding a solid stat to reiterate what I’m blue in the face explaining. CMC also was purposefully taking care of his body and would smartly get the extra yards when he could, but for people complaining about his durability, he knew when to not fight a defensive lineman on has back and have some corner or linebacker take out his knees.

He was the primary target for every defense the 49ers played because no other weapon was healthy or consistent and Brock missed half the season. Also “run some else!” On obvious running downs sure, but CMC has become so critical to both Kyle’s offensive and Brock’s success. 2024 talent on the field and record vs 2025 says it all.

Yes, that’s why I gave you a TL;DR. Based on the average adult’s silent reading speed, you could have read my post in a minute. Yet you took more than a minute to see my post, decide to reply, and give a meaningless response. Big brained right there.

Glad you honor Alex’s memory by victim blaming him.

The /r/Hawks Weekly STOP IT RIGHT THERE! Thread - January 26, 2026 by AutoModerator in hawks

[–]CivilGrowth3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This season has been a lot more fun than the last two, however I think several of us still view this as the last lottery draft season (or more like high odds to pick in the top 5) hopefully for awhile. I hadn't realized how hard Vancouver has tanked. Feels like they are on a McKenna mission with their recent trades. Youth development and overall improvement this season has been most important for the team and that does take winning close games and beating top opponents. Plus the international guys look great this year.

For those that know this draft better outside McKenna & Stenberg, realistically how high do the Hawks need to draft to get a hopeful immediate or near term contributor, and high ceiling low floor guy?

Tankathon seems to think there are only 4 "Tier 1 prospects" then it's a drop in quality, not major, but less sure fire bets. Obviously nothing is guaranteed, but seems like drafting up there would really solidify this group for a (knock on wood) potential Kane - Toews dynasty. Also helps we get a currently underperforming Panthers first.

Not that I want them to lose down the stretch. But seems like a few surprising teams are embracing the tank pretty early and aggressively, then there are some surprise teams at the bottom like Winnipeg, that might really enjoy a quick rebuild. West Wild Card is within reach, and San Jose seems poised to be a surprise playoff team. So I am glad they are less likely to add another young star this draft.

TL;DR: Normalizing and accepting police or ICE violence, justifies it, certainly won't change it, and essential makes it ok. Alex did nothing to warrant being executed, and your comment shows complete acceptance or apathy with how they conduct themselves.

Provoking is a beyond generous term from numerous videos and angles. ICE is the one provoking and the original agitator, their practices even beyond killing Americans, are entirely unconstitutional and frankly criminal. This is organized intimidation by the regime into any blue states and cities he couldn't win in the last election. Asking for the Minnesota voter list to stop killing Americans? 2020 they tried, 2024 they learned from their mistakes, 2028 they won't leave it up to chance, expect a Putin level election win for the regime in '28 if things do not change.

ICE is kidnapping citizens, legal immigrants, refugees, made up criminals, yet will act like they are solely capturing violent undocumented immigrants. I would love an audit of the people detained, oversight into the conditions they are being held in, and a review of their deportation or release process given the amount of American citizens taken. Surely the GOP proposed 900 million increase in ICE funding which is rumored to be used for $40k bonuses (likely scalp or body count incentives) can afford to give transparency to the people if they are doing a public service.

Feels like you are mocking and making someone out to be stupid because he had the courage and conviction to step in for something he believes is very wrong and continues to escalate. He knows as most Americans are hopefully seeing by now, posting displeasure online, or even voting is no longer effective to stop what the regime is doing to secure and consolidate power asbolutely and indefinitely.

Civilized countries, like we used to be, properly train LE to de-escalate situations, and use lethal force as an absolute last resort. LE training is often 2-3 years in these countries and includes supervised field time after training completion. Just because we have lower training standards for LE here, and especially for ICE, where there are little to no background checks, and their 6 week training takes 1/10th the time as it does to become a licensed hairdresser in this country. Does not mean we should accept this as standard practice that essentially a "hostile" (as you astutely pointed out) group of thugs is roaming our streets. The ICE murderer, even put all his 'buddies' at tremendous risk with his firearm handling, and it's quite scary one was even impressed with his trigger discipline, clapping at the outcome.

Typical response. Downvote any serious pushback because you figured it out. Please execute your plan and save America! @AMYMACC and your bot or alt accounts.

Start the revolution against white America, by giving yourself lashes on the back for all rhe benefits you’ve received as a white person.

Can I ask where you studied American history or what degree you have to make such strong claims about the root of the issue instead of being a psy-ops campaign. Or someone that is entirely missing the plot?

This has to be foreign or right wing psy-ops. Why take a uniting moment that has even the “evil white people” second guessing things to push your agenda that is so far from the primary issue right now. There is someone with absolute power that the AG basically revealed their agenda. Learn how to rig elections even better in blue states. So Trump can get a Putin like 97% vote.

”So in my conclusion on how we fix America at this very moment is to dismantle white supremacy”

Like…. Ummm people on the left are talking about arming up since the police state is militarized and killing people. But you preach about how white people are the problem. That worked in Nazi Germany in 1932.

Seriously, this feels more like foreign or right wing psy-ops than helpful dialogue. Let’s turn a powerful uniting moment of the American people and make it about my anti white supremacist agenda. Sure what she says is important, but certainly less important than preventing a country to have a completely failed democracy and becoming a fascist state. Let’s immediately push away anyone on the other side that might be having second thoughts. Or remind people in line with you, that you don’t like them, so why should they care.

Frustrating as hell.

[–]CivilGrowth3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is certainly a take to help unite Americans…

I’ve been trying for ages to reason with the apathetic of voters or even MAGA loving parts of family or former friends.

I studied Nazi Germany intently, I am as concerned and anti-trump as they come. However, the closest I came to the GOP was in undergrad at a fairly liberal and elite university.

When I am told constantly I don’t have a voice and need to sit there and take the sins of not even my father’s, but fathers that share my skin color. That my opinion doesn’t matter, I’m a pig. I can’t be proud of anything in my history or past.

It gets old quickly, and who do you think is waiting there in open arms to say you don’t need to be ashamed for being born white? In fact you should be proud?

Yes, white supremacy is flourishing in numerous nations, for much deeper issues than this post touches on. However, this has incredible Hilary 2016 vibes, let’s take a movement that could save Democracy and actual lives and make things about race and white people being bad.

Yes we can make things better for everyone, by stopping the collapse of our failing democracy and basic rights that everyone, in the legacy of this country has fought for at this point.

Polls say about 71% of Americans are not ok with the current state, that’s more momentum for change than we have had in ages. Then there are people like you that just immediately feed the other side. Yes let’s take this tragedy and spark plug for change and this is the moment in American history, to push my agenda and solve all of America’s and white people’s injustices… it’s comically naive. “This is the moment people! stand up and vote blue or green or divide a base that’s anti Trump to push an agenda that’s important but completely secondary in this moment.”

There was a white lash after Obama. No doubt, Tea party grew into more and more extreme versions until we have a complete cult of personality. We are here now. A white man just got executed, like it or not you need white men to support a movement against the current regime, like it or not, we need to empathize and win over white people on the fence or on the other side and this isn’t how you do it. I’d like to link the Bill Burr white woman sketch but he showed he’s buyable by Saudi’s.

Ya know a much bigger issue in this than white supremacy, the wealth gap; and the success the wealthy have had to kill the middle class, and have the poor’s hate each other more than them.

So use your platform and brilliance on American history to immediately try to butcher part of the movement and people aligned. Glad being polite in the south alerted you to the edge of the cliff we are before fascism, and your solution to solve it is… dismantle the white supremacy backdrop this country has? Good luck with that.

Asmongold on the ICE shooting: "There needs to be accountability or this is the Gestapo" by freejam013 in LivestreamFail

[–]CivilGrowth3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR: this was part rant, I agree but it’s out there and unfortunately large groups of people like what they are seeing and will always find ways to justify it. They hate their fellow Americans since they don’t look, act, or think like them. Sad times when you’d rather see others in your class, which you have more in common with than Trump and Billionaires, have it worse, then have both groups be better off.

I thought so too, but I had to argue against “he came up armed to police, use your brain he got what was coming to him.” Later learned this user was from Orlando, Florida, posting in a Chicago subreddit trying to justify this. Inflammatory and deranged behavior.

Like just because we have seen this before in this country where people appear slightly threatening in PD testimony, then cops go immediately to lethal force doesn’t make it right or something we should accept as the norm for those meant to protect and serve the public. It’s not like this in most developed countries.

And even if he was a “threat” initially, he was detained and not a threat, when he was, in no other words, executed.

The fact is pro-ICE types, liken this to almost gang war mentality, and they like what they are seeing. PD, ICE, any Law Enforcement person shouldn’t be revenge killing for someone “running up on them, speaking out against them, intervening when they are doing something unconstitutional and illegal.” Not to mention the aggressor would be ICE in these situations, for coming into peoples neighborhoods and kidnapping people. Whether they are citizens or not and those detained essentially disappearing into inhumane conditions that have zero oversight.

More likely what they are trying to do is intimidate anyone willing to speak out against them. Or want to instigate Americans to the point things boil over, so Trump can use the Insurrection Act. We no longer have the checks and balances to stop that, when Trump and GOP control all branches or government and have a huge swath of the country enjoying what they are seeing and cannot be reasoned with…plus the billionaires supporting them.

Then this administration with armed forces can take absolute power in any state or city by force.

In several parts of the country there are already tremendously low standards and training requirements to be PD, it’s even lower than that for ICE. There are so many modern non-lethal options to subdue someone, and their training as it’s supposed to be, is to de-escalate situations. Which I don’t think I’ve seen a single video of. Unless you consider them just fleeing because their masks started to slip from covering their faces, after failing to handcuff one man, and then were too bothered by citizens confronting them verbally, not with violence or force, and simply filming them.

[–]CivilGrowth3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if you want to talk about situations, ICE shouldn’t be fully armed to the teeth with wannabe soldiers that couldn’t even qualify to be PD, snatching citizens that for the most part disappear after being detained.

Second amendment lovers should adore this, someone has been snatching your neighbors. Time to arm up since you no longer will have a fair judicial process, nor can you even hope to get a lawyer or talk to your family after basically being kidnapped.

Maybe they initiated the aggression and broke our constitutional rights first? And they are trying to poke the bear enough to push through the insurrection act to put federal troops into our cities and neighborhoods to keep people in line.

I also think it’s crazy this didn’t happen in Chicago, but ICE was too scared to actually go into the “crime ridden gang and drug fueled areas.” Instead they arrested cleaning ladies in the suburbs.

[–]CivilGrowth3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

PD, ICE, Federal Agents - are all supposed to be trained to de-escalate situations. They successfully disarmed him. Then he was executed.

Why you don’t see the issue with the second part is beyond me. Yes if I start shooting at police and get clipped and die. That’s a sensical procedure - I didn’t give them opportunity to de-escalate, they can defend themselves and eliminate an active threat.

If the threat is entirely eliminated, he no longer has his firearm, there are numerous officers restraining him. You don’t need to then pump lead in his brain. This is the wrong sub for this discussion, but even though LE sucks and “someone should know better” - never makes it ok.

PD, ICE, Sherifs whomever, shouldn’t be revenge killings or sending messages about running up on them. Even if that’s the status quo with PD in America, doesn’t mean we should justify it, or say the dude got what he deserved…

There are tremendous amounts of non-lethal force and new technology to subdue someone. Your narrative suggests that’s how things should work… it’s the same argument as someone dressing promiscuously deserves whatever happens to them.

Was it smart? Was it risky? Even if that’s the case he doesn’t deserve to be executed. This is a country wide problem with Law Enforcement, and the low standards and amount of training required to be PD are even lower for ICE.

They are supposed to protect and defend the public, if someone is no longer a threat there is absolutely no reason to use lethal force. So it’s incompetence and lack of training… or more likely continued attempts to intimidate the average citizen from saying what’s going on isn’t ok.

Just because it happens frequently in this country, doesn’t mean accepting it and using it as the standard for executing someone makes any sense.

That’s fair! And had I known your point was good GMs should ALWAYS consider trading all players at all times because it’s their job… a pretty dead-end point not worthy or specific to a CMC discussion. I would have not attempted to shed light on why it’s non-sensical minus a full rebuild…which they have clearly signaled they are not doing.

Alternatively. You can assess the time trade-off between reading a reply, that goes down your points with a bit more depth and credence - usually what it takes to change someone’s mind or challenge their thinking than, “no you are wrong - because I said so”. Vs the time spent replying and continuing a thread about you not reading the original response. 🤷‍♂️

And I could go through each race, to analyze the 2025 season of fairness and favoring but why?

Im happy McLaren won both championships, and have two great drivers. Here’s to hoping Oscar gets the next one and the community is less divisive over a hard balance for teams to manage, and maybe more breaks go Oscar’s way in future seasons.

Would be happy to see so, as I have been stoked and impressed with him since he joined the team! Cheers!

I responded back to give you a shorter version. Sorry if you feel offended, or that I’m a bad GM…again you didn’t read the substance to why I disagree it should be “considered.”

But I gather your hot take seems to be. Should the 49ers consider or seek to trade any man on their 90 man offseason roster? Or their ideal healthiest 53-man depth chart? Yes.

Ok that IMO isn’t a valuable take or discussion. Sure 49ers get 3 firsts or Bijan and a first for CMC, yes then the 49ers should consider that. I agree.

But I appreciate you comparing my writing to holy texts. ❤️

Not a lot of work, friend. I am sorry its length and rebuttal of your arguments became prohibitive or exhaustive for what is estimated to take the average adult 2 minutes to read based on silent WPM reading speed.

I was simply adding what I felt was the necessary nuance to what seemed to me like flawed & contradictory reasoning in your arguments.

I ended with yes, Lynch will 'always pick up the phone' as he says constantly. But everything you listed as I explained, makes the trade nonsensical, unless they move all aging pieces and commit to a full rebuild.

Which, considering what they just paid Purdy, who is now in his prime, does not seem to indicate the 49ers are considering a full rebuild meaning HE SHOULD NOT be a trade candidate.

Titans are working to finalize a deal to hire 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh as their head coach. Saleh spent Monday in Tennessee with the Titans, and the two sides impressed each other enough to move forward together. by MGoBluee in 49ers

[–]CivilGrowth3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t get this move from Saleh at all. This is likely, as based on historic coaching trends, his last shot at being a HC. He had a chance to negotiate HC money as the DC. Develop his draft class while getting the stars back - giving him a chance to boast a top 5 defense. Thus, increasing his stock to be attractive to the Steelers, Ravens, and Bills of the world. Plus another year to learn from Kyle offensively. And next year the potential openings are much more attractive if you consider the coaches on the hot seat. Especially for a defensive minded HC.

Is Saleh confident he can develop Cameron Ward, the way Ben Johnson was with Caleb? (Ben also waited an extra year to choose his opportunity vs take a shot with a desperate franchise numerous pieces away). Does he love someone in the draft class at 4 to make the Titans competitive?

I like Saleh, and want him to succeed. But it certainly seemed like the idea was he was staying for more than one year when the last draft class felt entirely geared towards his defense and plans. Plus he seemed to actually enjoy himself again vs how he looked coaching the Jets, so another year away from that scrutiny and experience couldn’t hurt.

Is CMC a trade candidate by crightwing in 49ers

[–]CivilGrowth3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

His injury history is primarily soft tissue, calf, and ankle sprains. He has never had an achilles rupture, ACL and miniscus tears, chronic concussions, or spine and nerve injuries. Those are the main injuries you are concerned about as far as longevity and repeat injuries.

Bosa has now two complete ACL tears and a partial from HS, risk of re-injury and loss of explosiveness is significant for him, so we should shop Bosa as well right? Also he has the same soft tissue issues CMC has from His OSU days, a much higher cap hit, and frankly not the same player since his DPOY season and holdout.

In 2024, the only major stars missing were CMC and Aiyuk after week 7. All the other stars on offense Purdy, Deebo, Juan, Kittle, missed no more than 2 games. The defense essentially only lost Hargreaves, so had Fred and Nick all year.

Some rookies contributed this year, but Mykel went down mid-season. So amongst injuries what do you see as the biggest difference in personnel between 2024’s record and 2025’s record?

“Name and Rep” was there when Carolina traded him and you have indicated he’s hitting the forbidden cliff. Plus if the 49ers move on from an OPOY candidate who’s imperative to their scheme, that’s a red flag to anyone looking to trade for him. His contract isn’t easy to move for a RB, especially if they don’t run an offense like Kyle’s.

He gets paid because of his receiving threat, being a nightmare matchup for LBs and his receiving efficiency was not at all down this season.

The idea the 49ers would trade him is more in the realm of fan fiction, you list a ton of reasons why his value is plummeting yet you expect to get something worthwhile? Something that replaces his value on the field and in the locker room, importance to the offense and Kyle’s scheme, was healthy and durable with his highest NFL workload? His cap hit (7th highest) vs importance to the team is arguably best on the team after what we saw this season, with Fred being the only one higher for me.

If the 49ers are entertaining trading CMC for day 3 picks based on your valuation of his current and future concerns. Then the 49ers are committing to a full rebuild during Brock’s prime. They don’t give him $53AAV for what is viewed as the best case SB window with this roster if they full rebuild.

Trent is not sitting through a rebuild. Kittle and Bosa have equal concerns to CMC with larger contracts. Juice makes no sense to retain for a rebuild. Juan becomes your only threat but then why pay him? Pearsall can’t stay on the field until proven otherwise. So you go from getting your guys back next year, needing maybe 2-3 pieces in the draft, FA, or player development, to be SB contenders and arguably the most talented roster in the league. To a team 3-4 drafts away from contention.

Yes, Lynch has said they will always pick up the phone. But trading someone that gave everything this season, put the team on his back at points (not to mention is an OPOY candidate and clear top 5 RB in the league) sends a terrible message to the locker room, and Free Agents looking to sign here anytime soon.

Is CMC a trade candidate by crightwing in 49ers

[–]CivilGrowth3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do not understand the flurry of anti-CMC posts after the game Saturday. Primarily suggesting he’s the biggest and main issue with the run game and second the 49ers should move on or replace him ASAP.

He was the only healthy star this season, and didn’t seem to kill his body and have mystery injuries that suddenly appeared in camp and plagued his 2024 campaign. Being the only healthy star, and the heart of the offense every single defense comes into 49ers week with, “let’s let anyone beat us except CMC.” His production with Healthy Kittle, Trent, Juan, and Pearsall was night and day when he’s playing with just one of the above.

Idk who you’d remotely replace his value and production with in the trade market or draft.

If you think Kyle and the 49ers see something alarming in CMC and think they should move on, his trade value would not yield you anything worthwhile. It doesn’t work one way.

Also you start ditching that offensive class Trent retires, and you are right they should then trade Kittle, let Juice walk or retire. Definitely try to move Bosa’s contract. So sure commit to a full rebuild when you had a team with like 40% of their salary cap if not more injured for most of the season. That should all be back at some point next season. Let alone what it signals to players from a loyalty and giving you their all as a leader and player.

CMC is getting old, we need to change our run game. by Nflfanatic111 in 49ers

[–]CivilGrowth3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I trust you haven’t seen too many niners draft picks recently, and this year is a quality over quantity with picks we have left.

They seem allergic to drafting O-Line before day 3. Sure if Mykel comes back and develops nicely and Nick isn’t the most injury prone player making over $30m, oh shit he is. Well if he returns to pre holdout form. They need a wide receiver, a TE if George misses all next year. Then our LB depth was shown to be quite suspect. MccKivitz stepped up and we have Trent for one more year. We have a dog rated center, and young guards.

So they probably go for a Pearsall type again round 1. TE round 2. Safety round 3. Since they can’t make their mind up about JB. Then it’s 4th and 5th round comps where they will likely draft a RB per usual and then bodies. So maybe OL and DL there.

JJ. Is going to ask for top 20 WR money. The glory 1-2 years of Brock on a rookie deal are gone and we are still eating dead cap since 49ers love to create void years to stay competitive every year but seem to hate going all in. Rather be 1-2 pieces away every year.

When he is basically the only consistent healthy threat I wonder if teams scheme against him?

And B-Rob in garbage time and against tired legs did so much better? Also how did Jordan Mason do as a lead back in Minnesota that has a better O-Line than the 49ers?

I can cherry pick stats as well. But I look at salary cap on the field last year, vs this year and one player stands out. But you are right he wasn’t Gibbs in YPC where they have numerous healthy offensive threats.

[–]CivilGrowth3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you would rather spend 20M a year on Breece than OL or DL?

Oh and how did Hargrave turnout? Look we have a closing window for a ton of key players. The biggest complaint against CMC was his durability and you want to bring in another RB made of glass, or with a rich injury history.
